Designing graves and caring for them is the last opportunity to pay tribute to the departed person. The burial place should have an atmosphere of quiet, light sadness and be convenient for everyone who comes to remember the deceased. According to the established Russian tradition, each grave has a table and a bench where one could sit down.

It is important to remember that the design of graves has its own laws, a sense of proportion is extremely important here. If the design of other areas requires a play of colors that uplifts the mood, then the cemetery requires respectful restraint and rigor.

Grave plots are limited in area, which dictates the need to comply with specific standards in design. It is important to decorate the grave in such a way that its appearance is in harmony with the general appearance of the cemetery. What should be the correct design of the graves in the cemetery? Assortment of plants thatwould be suitable for decoration, great. Using several types, you can achieve a holistic composition that meets the basic listed requirements. Plants that are suitable for decorating burial sites are usually divided into:

- framing;

- forming a lawn;

- seasonal.

It is better to divide the grave site into three parts, where 10% is allocated for seasonal planting, up to 25% for framing, and the rest is allocated for ground cover and lawn plants.

In the first year, it is better to limit yourself to planting a tree and annuals. With perennials and shrubs, unfortunately, you will have to wait at least a couple of years. For the first three years, the soil will sag (the time of subsidence depends on the soil), and only then can you think about making a permanent composition.

Children's graves are decorated mainly with annuals or perennials that bloom for as long as possible. Usually low flowers are chosen, giving a delicate color. Sometimes, for ease of care, low ground cover plants are preferred, which, as they grow, cover the grave like a carpet, giving a feeling of peace.

Sometimes the conditions do not allow to arrange the grave as the relatives would like, and one has to limit oneself to stone slabs and gravel. But from a bare stone comes bitterness, sadness and oblivion. Still, it is better to plant non-capricious perennials that grow without much care: fern (in a shady place), aquilegia, peonies, ornamental grasses.

It is worth thinking about what time of the year you come to the graves of deceased loved ones. It would be better to focus on thoseplants, the peak of growth and flowering of which falls on the time of visits. If you cannot come often, plant shrubs instead of flowers (horizontal cotoneaster, euonymus, shrub cinquefoil). It is better that the shrub does not exceed two meters in height. By the way, most shrubs can be trimmed and shaped.

The decoration of the graves with evergreen conifers, such as cypress, thuja, microbiota, fir, looks very impressive and solemn. They practically do not require care, they do not need formation. If you choose trees with strong root systems, do not plant them in close proximity to the monument - as they grow, they can mow it down and even cause cracks.
