When things are not going well, there are no buyers, and financial problems begin to loom on the horizon, all people, without exception, from simple sellers to reputable tycoons, remember conspiracies and prayers for trade.

And the first question is, what is the difference between one and the other and what will be more effective - a prayer or a conspiracy?

How are prayers and magic techniques similar?

Prayers, conspiracies and other options for energy influence on the current state of affairs are inherently different roads to one final destination. Therefore, you need to use the type of energy impact that is intuitively closer and inspires confidence. Continuing the analogy with the roads, we can say that the fuel on the way is the faith of a person who turned to higher powers for help.

That is, in the absence of faith in God, you do not need to pray to either Christ or the Holy Intercessors. Likewise notone should use folk household divination without believing in it. Faith is not just an obligatory attribute of success, but actually the cornerstone on which the effectiveness of both prayers and divination rests.

What's the difference?

Each prayer for trading in goods is different from any of the methods of worldly divination, carried out with similar goals by faith.

A sincerely believing person, regardless of what religion his conviction belongs to, should use prayers, and not conspiracies or other rites. However, without faith in God, there is no point in praying. The very words of the prayer for trading are not important, of course, if these are not mantras. It is faith that helps to set things right, and not what was said.

This is the main difference. Only those who believe in the need for these actions need to use prayers, call a priest to sprinkle water on a trading place and bless the business.

Welfare and profit are different concepts
Welfare and profit are different concepts

Continuing the analogy with different roads leading to one point, we can say that prayers to the Holy Intercessors are the longest, “circular” version of the trip. The fact is that Christianity arose much later than the foundations of folk rituals of divination, aimed at increasing prosperity, were formed. Therefore, again comparing with roads, only those who have enough fuel to cover the distance, that is, sincere faith, need to go this way.

Simplistically, the difference is that the one who prays turns to the Saints, regardless of which religion he belongs to, butthe conjurer - to the forces of nature, the elements, and so on.

Whom to pray to?

When it comes to prayers for trade, the question inevitably arises of who exactly to turn to, which icon to approach in the temple and where to put a candle. Often such interest is taken as an indicator of a lack of faith, but in fact it indicates a lack of knowledge.

Orthodox Christians pray for prosperity and successful sale of goods:

  • To Nicholas the Wonderworker;
  • Seraphim of Sarov;
  • Ioann Sochavsky.

Of course, you can always ask for the intercession and help of your Guardian Angel.

Muslims don't look to any particular image for support. In Islam, a prayer for good trading consists in reading a dua. These are texts from the Koran, read to distract evil spirits, negative intentions, purification of thoughts and, as a result, gaining material benefits from trading.

Catholic faith does not imply specific prayers for trading. Catholics pray without explicit requests. However, the Catholics consider St. Ignatius to be the patron of merchants in heaven.

How to pray?

Definitely, this question cannot be answered. Each “ready-made” prayer for successful trading is very similar to whispering, slander and other methods of worldly divination. It is for this reason that in Catholicism there are no specific “ready-made” prayers with a clear energy message for obtaining material benefits.

Many believe that a strong prayer for trading, for selling goods and maximizing profits in the shortest possible time should be read from the heart, in your own words. Supporters of following rites and strict fulfillment of canonical prescriptions (and there are a lot of such people among believers) are convinced of the need to read a “ready-made” prayer.

However, texts taken not from Byzantine prayer books can no longer be considered canonical, but only traditional. Moreover, each “ready-made” strong prayer for trade, for the sale of goods and its speedy sale was compiled in Russia for specific merchant families. In the Middle Ages, during the period of the greatest piety of the population, it was customary among the well-born and we althy merchants to turn to monasteries or other large church institutions for the service of compiling family texts of prayers. Of course, in the first place, prayer was supposed to help the prosperity of the trade business. In gratitude for compiling such texts, the merchants made large donations, and with a very successful course of affairs, they built temples.

The only correct solution to the question of what should be a prayer for a successful trade will be your own idea. If a deeply religious person is convinced of the need to pronounce a certain text in front of the icon, then this should be done in exactly this way and not otherwise. In the absence of such conviction or uncertainty about the origin of the text of the prayer, one should ask for mercy from the Saints using one's own words.

Prayers to St. Nicholas

Prayer for trade to Nicholas the Wonderworker from time immemorialcenturies is considered the most effective. However, there are many more options for various texts for addressing this saint than prayers addressed to others.

Nicholas the Wonderworker is prayed more often

Options for what a prayer for trading to Nicholas the Wonderworker could be:

  • “The merciful intercessor, St. Nicholas, who works good miracles and prays for sinners’ souls! Help me, the servant of the Lord (proper name), avoid mistakes and ruin. Give me, the servant of the Lord (proper name), a sign, teach me how to act in worldly affairs, so that there is an increase in prosperity, and waste bypasses my family. Amen.”
  • “Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, father! I ask for your help and intercession, I entrust my fate to you, the servant of our Lord Jesus Christ (proper name). I pray for the protection of my cause, taken from my father, so that I can pass it on to my son with tripling, and not with ruin. Amen.”
  • "Nikolai Ugodnik, defender of all worldly affairs before the eyes of the Lord! Grant me, an unworthy slave (proper name), good luck in vain affairs and worries of the day. Do not let me, the servant of God (proper name), know the bitterness of the bread of daily production. Poverty and poverty, and other sorrows with misfortunes, take (proper name) away from me. Amen"

The last one on this list is a prayer for trading for every day. It was actively used by shopkeepers in Russia from ancient times and before the formation of Soviet power, which greatly changed all existing trading traditions, including those related to religion.

How did those who didn't trade every day pray?

Accepted by the peopleprayers for the successful sale of something at fairs or on the market on Sunday, were also mainly addressed to Nikolai Ugodnik.

Such a prayer to the Miracle Worker for trade sounded differently. In the south, they prayed differently than in the north of the country. In the West, the text was radically different from what was said, for example, in Siberia.

A strong folk prayer for trade, which helps to sell your goods quickly and with maximum profit, can be like this: “Nikolai Ugodnik, father. Nicholas the Wonderworker, father. Help, don't leave me with your mercy. I ask for your help in the matter of the worldly, vain (enumeration of what the request is about). Amen.”

In the old days, peasants who went to week-long county fairs were very afraid of envy, intrigues and simply anger from competitors. A prayer for trade for every day, addressed to St. Nicholas, helped to protect against this: “Nicholas the Pleasant, father. Nicholas the Wonderworker, father. Help me, servant of God (proper name). Cleanse my soul from unholy intent, save good from the evil one and his whispers in human ears. So that evil people do not look in the direction of my goods and my good. So that I, the servant of God (proper name), stay in abundance and satiety. Amen.”

The main difference between the prayers that have developed among the people and those used by the merchants lies in its beginning, that is, in the form of an appeal. Each popular strong prayer for trade, sale or purchase with profit directed began with a double appeal to the Saint.

About prayers to Seraphim of Sarov

Prayer for trade to Seraphim was read asas a rule, merchants of Novgorod the Great, Pskov and other northwestern Russian lands. The merchants of these places considered the holy elder their patron, and it was customary to hang an icon depicting his face in shops, banks and other similar places. Although the saint himself was born in Kursk and had nothing to do with the north of the country.

The merchants began to consider him their patron, starting in 1825, after the term of the seclusion vow given by Seraphim had expired. Then Alexander I himself went on a visit to his cell. That is, they began to pray to the elder for help even before canonization and during his lifetime.

Seraphim was officially canonized only on January 29, 1903. Until that date, the situation was ambiguous, since everyone went to bow to his relics, from peasants and merchants to members of the government and the royal family. Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna also went to them with prayers for granting them an heir.

His iconic portraits in the north-west of Russia hung everywhere where there was trade. And the monasteries and individual clergy actively compiled the texts of prayers at the request of the merchants. The merchants repeatedly turned to the Synod with requests for canonization, since the absence of this status did not allow them to erect temples to the miracle worker in gratitude for his help in earthly affairs.

It is believed that a strong prayer for trade addressed to this saint should be long and complex. If you open any prayer book, then the section in which the texts referring to Seraphim of Sarov are collected are presented preciselyoptions.

In fact, the complexity of the prayers in which they turn to St. Seraphim for help is due to a rather banal life circumstance. Since the merchants considered him their intercessor in heaven, they turned to monasteries with requests to compose personal prayers to this saint much more often than with a desire to receive a text to appeal to someone else. As a result, priests and monks were forced to complicate and lengthen the texts so that each prayer for successful trading would come out really original.

How to pray to Saint Seraphim?

In the "Handbook for the Holy Church Servants", published in 1913, the question of the incorrupt state of the relics of the elder was explained, and instructions were given for holding prayers, and there are also recommendations for the flock. It was recommended to pray to the saint in the same way as they did, addressing words to other miracle workers.

A prayer for a good trade, addressed to an old man, can be like this: “Father Reverend! I humbly beg you for help and intercession for me, a servant of God (proper name) before our Lord Jesus Christ! I ask for your intercession in atoning for my sins and cleansing my thoughts from filth. May the Lord see that I do not trade for the sake of stinginess, but at the behest of my heart. My thoughts are not carried away by profit. Intercede father for the slave (proper name), do not leave and teach. Amen.”

All prayer appeals to the elder began with the word "Father". This is a traditional appeal to saints who do not have canonical status. However, praying in your own words, turnit could be otherwise, because Seraphim was still canonized.

About John Sochavsky

Another heavenly patron of traders - John Sochavsky. Prayer for trade to this saint was considered traditional for many centuries for everyone who went on business to distant wanderings.

This is due to the circumstances of the life of the holy great martyr. John lived during the formation of Christianity and was a merchant. One day his faith became known to the owner of the ship on which the merchant was sailing. And since John arrived in non-Christian lands, the captain informed the authorities for the appropriate reward about the religious views of the arrived merchant.

Many of the early Christians were martyred
Many of the early Christians were martyred

Further story is banal. Such cases are not uncommon during the formation of Christianity. John refused to renounce his faith and, moreover, began to agitate his captors to join Christianity. Of course, he was executed in the cruelest way, that is, he was martyred.

But then something happened that converted many residents of the city to the faith of Christ. The city guards swore that they saw with their own eyes how the heavens opened up over the body of the executed man thrown on display. Lights descended from above and lined up in a staircase, along which the Angels descended. They surrounded the torn body of John, from which a transparent image rose. After that, the Angels, together with the image in which the guards recognized the soul of the slain, rose into the sky. As soon as they disappeared behind the edge of the clouds, the vision disappeared, and the sky again became clear and full of stars.

The guards were subjected to terrible torture, but they did not retract their words, moreover, the rumor about what they saw swept through the city, converting many of its inhabitants to the Christian faith.

Description of this miracle is in all legends about the Great Martyr John. And his occupation during his lifetime and his death during a trading trip prompted merchants going on wanderings to offer up prayers for protection and success to John.

How to pray to John Sochavsky

It is generally accepted that in order for the Great Martyr Sochavsky to help, the prayer for trade should be said only to those who are setting off on the road or are already on the way. Not only the merchants themselves, but also those who simply transport goods can count on the protection and patronage of the saint. For example, truck drivers or people accompanying the goods, that is, forwarders.

A prayer for successful trading addressed to this saint could be: “The Most Holy Great Martyr John, who accepted a fierce death! Bless me, servant of God (proper name), and keep me on the road. Do not let you experience the torments that have befallen you, save you from human wiles and from greed, from the machinations of the evil one and from your stupidity. I ask you, holy intercessor, for the gift of wisdom and he alth, for salvation from danger and the increase in my state. Amen.”

There is a legend that describes John's trade prayer. That is, the prayer that the great martyr himself offered up. According to legend, it was her reading that the shipowner heard, betraying John into the hands of the city authorities. However, to use this text, the merchantspast, was not accepted, it was considered a very bad omen. Superstition has always been strong in people, regardless of the depth of their religiosity.

As for the text of the prayer, it is different in different versions of the legend. Researchers believe that the text was changed when rewriting the biography of the great martyr on purpose, so as not to invite trouble on those who dare to repeat the prayer. It can only be unequivocally stated that the prayer was addressed to one of the apostles.

What do they say about prayers?

In recent years, leaving and reading reviews has been a very passing activity. Reviews have penetrated into all spheres of life. People write about products and services, about the effectiveness of magic, about the specifics of keeping pets, and about everything else. Prayers are no exception. Feedback from people praying for the success of trading is contradictory. Some write about the effectiveness of this method, while others speak directly - "words into the wind." The same applies to the saints who are asked for help.

However, if there is a desire to read the reviews and, based on them, choose the type of conversion and the most holy one, then you should not pray at all. Prayer is a deeply personal, faith-based process. It cannot be assessed on any scale of effectiveness. Prayer, like the saints themselves, cannot have statistics showing effectiveness. There are no graphs whose lines indicate the effectiveness of appeals to saints depending on the type of prayer or the time of year.

Faith is an irrational phenomenon
Faith is an irrational phenomenon

Prayers are based on faith, they are irrational and come from the heart andsoul, not from the human brain. Only if you have faith will prayer help. And a believer never thinks about choosing a patron saint. This is inexplicable, but a believer, even entering the temple for the first time, knows exactly which image to approach and what to whisper. Moreover, often a person does not know who is depicted on the icon. Especially often this happens in old churches. This phenomenon is a paradox of faith. However, like faith itself, it simply exists. She will certainly indicate the right choice of the icon-painting image and put the right words in her heart.
