Religious thinker - the founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad - whose biography can serve as an example for every Muslim, was born in the family of a merchant named Abdallah in the city of Mecca. Disputes about the date of his birth still do not subside, but most reliable sources indicate the year 570. The boy lost his father while still in the womb. His mother died when he was 6 years old. The uncle took up the upbringing of the future prophet. From childhood, the boy worked hard and hard: as a shepherd, as an assistant to a merchant, and then as a petty merchant. Together with the caravans, this inquisitive and independently thinking young man traveled to many cities, where he communicated with different people. On one of these journeys, he met the Nestorian monk Bahira.
Bahira's Prediction
The biography of the Prophet Muhammad contains many interesting moments, but this one is considered one of the most important. One might even say - fateful. As a teenager, Muhammad traveled with his uncle's caravan to Syria. On the way, he stopped at Busra and settled next to the cell of the monk Bahira, who was considered a Christian scholar. It is claimed that the monk saw over the futureprophet cloud. When the shadow of this cloud obscured a nearby tree, its branches bent low over Muhammad. Struck by what he saw, Bahira invited the young man to his place and began to ask about his views on life, dreams, actions, etc. After a long conversation, the monk was sure that Muhammad was the prophet of Allah. What he told the teenager and his uncle.
Marrying Khadija
The biography of the Prophet Muhammad is filled not only with religious, but also with ordinary, everyday events. One of these is his marriage to the rich and noble widow Khadija. She was engaged in trade and hired men to run her own business. So 21-year-old Mohammed got into her shop. Four years later, admiring the qualities of the future prophet, Khadija decided to marry him. According to numerous sources, she was 15 years older than her husband. Before that, she managed to be married twice. The founder of Islam loved her very much, even after she died. When a sheep was slaughtered for lunch or dinner, Muhammad always sent several pieces of meat to her friends. Aisha's second wife was jealous of Khadija until the end of her life, even when she was no longer alive.
Basic teaching
The biography of the Prophet Muhammad would be incomplete without mentioning the Koran, where his statements are collected. The doctrine known as Islam is based on five principles:
1. Monotheism (only Allah exists).
2. Prayer 5 times a day.
3. Cleansingcharity.
4. Pilgrimage to Mecca.
5. Annual fast in the month of Ramadan.
Last Hajj (pilgrimage)
The biography of the Prophet Muhammad ends in 632. In March, he made a hajj to Mecca. At his sermon there were 14 thousand Muslims, to whom Muhammad announced the end of his prophetic mission. After returning to Medina, he developed a fever. The prophet categorically refused medicines. On June 8, he came to the mosque located next to his house and said goodbye to the worshipers. Hours later, Muhammad died in the arms of his wife, Aisha.
