Stirlitz is the name of a personality type accepted in socionics. The creator of science, Lithuanian Aushra Augustinavichute, giving the name to the sociotype, was inspired by the character of Isaev (Stirlitz in the film "17 Moments of Spring"). A person of this type is a logician, a sensory and an extrovert. Abbreviated as LSE. However, it should be noted that the names of the characteristics of sociotypes do not mean at all the same as in life. In the article we will consider the distinctive features of the FEL, socionics, or rather, its main provisions.
Basic Socionics
There are four opposite pairs of characteristics: extra- and introversion, logic and ethics, sensory and intuition, rationality and irrationality.
Many people think that an extrovert is a chatterer, and an introvert is a notorious silent person.
In fact, the characteristic shows in which world(external or internal) a person prefers to be where he is more comfortable. An introvert can be very sociable, but he restores his strength in solitude. An extrovert, on the contrary, draws energy from the outside world, all his attention is directed to other people, objects. Most of all, he is interested in how he affects the world around him. The introvert is mainly interested in what effect the environment has on him.
Logicians make decisions rationally, through analysis. According to socionics, LSE is exactly like that. Ethics are based on their feelings, personal attitude. For them, ethical standards and their own sense of rightness play a major role.
Sensors and intuits, wanting to make their own impression about something, collect different types of information. The former are guided by what is here and now, that is, by the sensations from their five senses. Intuitives pay attention to subtexts, hidden possibilities, meanings, believe in insights, a sixth sense.
Rationality means that a person likes planning, predictability. This is a high level of self-organization of the individual. Irrationality is following impulses, volatility, freedom from a strict routine.
Type-defining functions
The psychotype has four functions: leading, auxiliary, weak and driven. In socionics, the test for determining the type allows you to find out which of the characteristics of a person include logic, ethics, intuition, sensory, etc. The name of the type is given in accordance with two main functions: leading and auxiliary. The first shows the areawhich is of most interest to the individual. Often it becomes a profession because it is easy to feel confident in this area.
The helper function is a little weaker, it shows how a person implements the main one. The sensory logician will, for example, organize production, and the intuitive logician will conduct sociological research.
The third function is weakness, through this channel a person is very vulnerable. He feels a lack, doubts, may even have complexes. He perceives any pressure and reproaches with hostility, therefore the function is also called painful.
The fourth channel is a slave. Here a person accepts help, indications of mistakes. The function is also called suggestive, because through it you can easily influence, suggest something. There are 16 personality types in socionics (this is the maximum number of possible combinations of characteristics).
Features of Stirlitz
LSE is very good in business and is confident in his competence. He knows how to choose the most efficient and least energy-consuming among many ways. What is significant for him, he does brilliantly, does not accept imperfection, therefore he is not afraid to redo it. He is a persistent and hardworking person. He loves when everything is in its place, maintains impeccable cleanliness, but at the same time he can easily find lost things in a pile of things. Adheres to the principle of reasonable economy and teaches this to others. All these are manifestations of a strong function - logic.
From work to appearance - love for beauty is visible in everything, but excessive embellishment is not characteristic of this type. Despite the fact that it is distrustful, patronizesclose people, having a practical approach to everything, tries to make their lives easier. This is how the auxiliary function (sensorics) manifests itself.
Stirlitz is not fearful, he is confident in his strength, but uses it only if he needs to protect a loved one. He treats others with respect, behaves correctly, does not allow frivolities, he is a sociable merry fellow with friends. He is strict with his family, but especially with himself. Has a Nordic character. This means that he tries to be restrained, to remain calm. Emotions take over from time to time. In such cases, the LSE behaves abruptly, gets excited, and all because the ethics of emotions is poorly developed.
If he is busy with something, he is completely immersed in the "here and now", because he does not feel the passage of time, he may be late, not complete the work on time (intuition of time is not his forte). He is aware of this peculiarity, because of his high sense of duty he worries and hates when he is rushed or takes away precious time.
Understands and accepts if he is not treated very well at work, but from his soul mate expects deep love and constant confirmation of it. He often makes mistakes in assessing people, does not understand the intricacies of their behavior, emotions, therefore he does wrong in relation to them (his ethics of relations needs support). He considers the ideal society where goodness, love, beauty dominate.
FEL behavior in stressful situations
Stirlitz is convinced that if you do not follow the rules, do not draw conclusions from past mistakes, everythingwill go to dust. Like all sensory rationals, he strives for a just society. He believes that the right to live in it must be earned, it can be done if you are honest and do everything that depends on you. The LSE is very afraid that he will not be accepted, not recognized, rejected, and this gives him great anxiety. Stirlitz is worried that he can blunder, lose the trust of other people. The state of stress in which he finds himself because of this fear pushes him to increase control. A person of this sociotype is eager to correct everything that is imperfect, everything that is not in order, therefore he is angry with those whom he considers irresponsible. In such cases, it seems to others that their opinion is not taken into account, that Stirlitz's conclusions are hasty and erroneous. If a stressful situation is prolonged, a representative of this type feels empty, tired, and may even get sick. In such a helpless state, the LSE complains that he is uninteresting, underestimated, panics at the thought that he will be abandoned. Stirlitz can pester loved ones with complaints, nit-picking, or overprotectiveness. As a result, his dissatisfaction causes resistance from others.
Subtleties of interaction
If the personality determination method revealed that you or someone you know is an FEL, then read the recommendations for effective communication.
In order to reach mutual understanding, it is customary for diplomats not to get down to business immediately, but to make an introduction. It allows you to tune in to the wave of the interlocutor and orient him about the upcoming conversation. Different sociotypes should do this in their own way.
If you are Stirlitz, then create an atmosphere of impartiality,determine at what psychological distance the conversation will take place - on “you” or on “you”. Show a willingness to evaluate the counterpart's arguments with a cool head.
You have a Nordic character. What does this mean for the interlocutor? The fact that you cannot always morally support a person, because your ethical function and intuition are poorly developed. The LSE needs to show that he deeply understands the situation, its non-obvious causes, to demonstrate the hidden side of the problem. It can be helpful to convey your confidence to the other person and let them know that you will report if things change.
In making decisions, Stirlitz can be very successful and useful to other people. It is worth listening when he says how to act, explains tactics, sequence; calls one of the specialists qualified; shows a more efficient way; tells the chronology of events, gives facts.
If you have to deal with some problem, then the LSE is the best able to defend the interests of the team, to protect a loved one. He is able to quickly put things in order, create comfort, cleanliness, feed, organize a holiday and make everyone feel comfortable.
If you have committed a crime before Stirlitz, he will understand and will not be offended if you tell him: “I didn’t feel well”, “I didn’t understand the essence, I couldn’t figure it out”, “This goes against my interests.”
The FEL takes praise best when it comes to his skills and some tangible things. You can, for example, praise his golden handsand the repairs that he himself made, admire the comfort in the apartment, delicious treats.
If you need to make a remark to Stirlitz, you should not say: “You came at the wrong time”, “I don’t have time for this”, “All because of your haste!”. Wordings are suitable: “It would be more ethical to do so …”, “I think your words could offend him.”
What qualities should a job fit for FEL
In socionics, the test for determining the type can also be useful in that it will guide you in choosing an activity to your liking. Stirlitz will be comfortable if work:
- makes it possible to apply logic to achieve clearly defined goals;
- allows you to independently determine tactics, set tasks for employees, gives enough time and money;
- gives priority to his opinion, experience, enables the LSE to make decisions and be responsible for them, control the implementation;
- connected to real, tangible things, its results can be measured;
- estimated fairly, according to clear criteria;
- involves cooperation with responsible people who care about the result, takes place in an atmosphere of mutual respect;
- makes it possible to predict the result, build everything in the form of a structure.
Advantages of Stirlitz at work
The logical-sensory extrovert (LSE) will be successful in his career due to qualities such as:
- Focus on results, company goals, practicality.
- Accuracy in work, the pursuit of high quality, the ability to bring the matter to the end.
- Commitment, responsibility, the ability to be tough when needed.
- The ability to notice a violation of logic, inappropriate, inefficient use of resources.
- Ability to make objective, not emotionally dictated decisions, organizational skills.
- Realistic vision of the future.
- Compliance with business ethics, the ability to cooperate, work in a hierarchy.
Disadvantages of FEL in operation
The following disadvantages can interfere with the career of the socionic type of Stirlitz:
- Inflated demands on others.
- Intolerance for inattention and disruption of order by employees.
- Tendency to become irritable if the process is delayed or the work is ineffective.
- Fear of trying new things, unwillingness to change something in yourself.
- Unable to hear the arguments of the other side.
- Short-sightedness, excessive focus on the present, lack of strategic thinking.
- Insensitivity to how decisions affect others.
Stirlitz as a leader
In schools of socionics, FEL is called differently (Administrator, Organizer, since representatives of this type very often choose managerial work). Consider the behavior of Stirlitz the leader.
As an administrator, he is more successful in solving tactical rather than strategic tasks. Prefers to be a leader in a system with a strict hierarchy. Contact with subordinates establishes, relying not on personal vision, but on objective factors. At the same time, at work, Stirlitz strives to make sure that nothing prevents his subordinates from fulfilling their duties. A leader of this type interacts with employees with his characteristic decisiveness and confidence - through clear instructions and control over their implementation. He knows how to cooperate, but inside there is a sense of competition. The LSE values subordinates primarily for the results of their work, and not for their human qualities. It may not pay attention to ethical standards, since it manages, guided by established rules, the expediency of this or that action. Stirlitz is focused on how a firm can make more profit without breaking the law. It often happens that despite a good goal (the well-being of the company), employees remain offended because this type of representative does not think about how his decisions affect the feelings of others.
What professions are suitable, according to socionics, FEL
Strengths of this sociotype: business ethics, desire to be useful to people, readiness for great responsibility. They allow Stirlitz, who works as a manager, economist, director, to turn a loss-making, inefficient enterprise into a prosperous one. Such a person creates a clear system in which each subordinate performs his functions. Leading work is suitable in any area related to reality, and not to abstract matters (school director, ship captain, civil servant, officer in the army, managerfirms, general contractor, system administrator).
Stirlitz loves to make decisions because it gives him the opportunity to show his logic, his dominant function. She will help in the profession of a doctor, engineer, air traffic controller.
FEL prides itself on being able to analyze problems and fix them, effectively using the skills of others. Makes decisions based on sensory (auxiliary function). It helps him get information about the real state of affairs, about what can be fixed and what can not. At the same time, it keeps a lot of details and facts in focus. His plans are never out of touch with reality, and facts are never false.
Logic is the dominant function, it will help Stirlitz in advising clients if he becomes an insurance or commercial agent, real estate appraiser, lawyer. LSE thinks through and justifies its recommendations so that the client wins. Due to logic, he does not take customer failures personally. It works effectively because it correctly determines what is important and what is not, allocates time.
If the LSE works as a judge, a doctor, a flight engineer on an airplane, then a developed sensory system helps to have broad knowledge, collect information, take into account a thousand little things. If Stirlitz sells, then he is good at it thanks to logic. It allows you to get your ideas across and stand your ground in difficult negotiations.
Although there are 16 personality types in socionics, Stirlitz is one of the few who can be successful in almost any profession, forwith the exception of psychotherapy, pedagogy and other activities that require a deep understanding of human feelings and relationships. Reach heights in areas related to the management of people, technology, technology. Even if this is the work of a teacher, then technical disciplines, labor training are more suitable. If the LSE wants to choose medicine, then he will be more interested in the professions of a dentist and a surgeon, because there are a lot of equipment and tools in their work.
