In the modern world there are five main religious directions - Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism. From them came many more branches - sects and local beliefs.
The oldest books in the world
People tried to convey their vision of the world and the most secret knowledge to their descendants, imprinting them first on stones and clay tablets, and later on papyrus and paper. This is how holy books appeared, which set out the main commandments of each religious direction.
For Christians it is the Bible, for Jews it is Tanakh, for Islamists it is Koran, for Hindus it is Vedas, for Buddhists it is Tripitaka. The purpose of these books is to convey to a person information about the creation of the world and establish certain rules in human relationships. In some ways, the religious plots of sacred books and writings have something in common with each other, in something, on the contrary, they radically differ from each other. One thing is certain: each person is free to choose which God he will worship.
Names and titles of prophets
Unfortunately, modern man, having enormous opportunities to studylegacy of the past, has only a superficial knowledge of world religion.
Few of us know that in the Bible Jesus Christ is endowed with 200 different titles and names. The most famous of them are Jesus of Nazareth, Yeshua (an important role in this was played by Bulgakov's novel The Master and Margarita), Joshua and a number of others. For example, Jesus Christ is better known to Islamic believers as Isa. Moreover, in the 17th century, a split occurred in the Orthodox Church over how to correctly write the name of Christ in Russian - Jesus or Jesus.
Also, few people know all the names of the Prophet Muhammad, because it includes the entire genealogy of the most revered prophet of Islam from the creation of the world. The full name of the great prophet exceeds five thousand letters. The most widespread were such names of the Prophet Muhammad as Muhammad, Muhammadul-Amin, Ahmad, Al-Hashir, Ash-Shahid, Rahim, Mustafa, Nazir and a number of others.
The main relics of believers
Each religious movement has its own characteristics and relics that believers worship. The main relic of Christians is the Shroud of Turin, in which the body of Jesus Christ was wrapped after death.
Buddhists venerate holy places related to the Buddha and his relics - a tooth, a curl and bones.
Muslim relics have become in demand relatively recently, as in the traditions of Islam it is customary to bury the deceased along with his belongings.
However, many religious relics have a rather controversial origin. Sometimes believers sincerelythey worship skilful fakes masquerading as holy relics and things supposedly belonging to saints.
Shrines of Islam. Hair from the head of the Prophet Muhammad
The most revered shrine of all Muslims is the hair of the Prophet Muhammad. Fraudsters did not fail to take advantage of this fact. Disregarding all ethical and moral standards, taking advantage of the gullibility of people, under the guise of a shrine, they distribute the hair of an ordinary person among believers, passing them off as a genuine relic.
Clearly aware of the fact that there cannot be so many hairs on a person's head that everyone could acquire them, the scammers invented a legend in their defense, supposedly the hair of the Prophet Muhammad can multiply by itself. Let's leave this deceit on their conscience. Moreover, there are still enough people who want to buy the relic, and the demand for it, as they say, exceeds the supply.
Genuine shrines are carefully guarded and not always available to believers. They are taken out for public viewing on especially solemn days. Often this is presented as the performance of special rituals. So, among Muslims there is a beautiful custom to perform ablution of a genuine strand of hair of the Prophet Muhammad. So that not a single precious hair from the head of the prophet disappears, ablution is carried out in silver baths located at several levels relative to each other. After the washing procedure, they check with a magnifying glass whether all the hair is still in place.
It is believed that the water in which the hair of the Prophet Muhammad was washed acquireshealing qualities, so every believer in Allah dreams of having it. Fortunately, at the end of the ritual, water is simply distributed to everyone.
The sacred hair from Muhammad's beard
Also sacred to Muslims is another relic - a hair from the beard of the prophet. Believing Muslims believe that there are only 3 copies of genuine exhibits of beard hair. The first is located in the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul, the second is kept in the Hazratbal Mosque, located in the Indian city of Srinagar, the third is in the Museum of Regional Importance, owned by the Tyumen City Duma. So, if you wish, any inhabitant of the Eurasian continent can see this miracle.
Every educated person should respect the religious feelings of other peoples, because we are all residents of one planet Earth and at the end of our life path, albeit on different roads, we will come to the single house of our Creator God.
