Timashevsky monastery was opened on the Kuban land in a difficult time for the country. The change in the economic system had a heavy impact on every person, but the same crisis opened up new opportunities and became the period of the beginning of the revival of Orthodoxy in Russia. Today, the monastery is known for many good deeds and the healing gift of its first rector, Father George.

Establishing a monastery

In 1987, a small Holy Ascension Church stood on the site of the current Timashevsky Monastery, and Archimandrite George (Savva) fell to head the parish. With the assumption of duties, Father George considered the construction of a large temple capable of accommodating all the parishioners to be the first task. There were very few helpers in this aspiration, the local authorities were in no hurry to allocate land and did not approve the idea of construction.

It was possible to realize the plans with the acquisition of a plot of land of 15 acres on the outskirts of Timashevsk in a swampy area. The parish priest believed that over time the city would grow, the church would become the center of Orthodox life. A few years later, this happened, today next to the Timashevsk monasteryresidential areas are located. With the purchase of land, construction began immediately, ending in 1991. The consecration of the church took place in 1992; also, by the decision of the synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, a monastery was opened. Archimandrite Georgy has been appointed as the abbot of the monastery.

Beginning history

The Timashevsky Monastery was founded during the difficult years of the transition period from the Soviet system to the current economic model of the state. It was difficult for everyone in the country, and the monastic brethren were no exception. The construction of cells and farmsteads became possible with the participation of philanthropists. As all possible assistance to the monastery, building materials were allocated for the construction of the enclosure-fence. The complex was formed from two residential premises connected by an arch, in which the entrance gate is equipped.

Traditions of monastic life involve complete self-sufficiency. There were 12 monks in the community. For his own needs and assistance to needy parishioners, the rector turned to the city authorities with a request to allocate a plot of land for agricultural work. Thanks to the participation of the city administration, the monastery received at its disposal about 300 hectares of arable land.

The icons of the Mother of God are carefully kept in the monastery - "Burning Bush" and "Vladimirskaya". The icon of the saint and healer Panteleimon, painted in the workshops of Athos, is honored by the brethren and parishioners. A reliquary with the relics of several Orthodox saints was presented to the monastery, a reliquary with the relics of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the healer Panteleimon was given to Archimandrite George by Elder Job.

History of the icon

The most revered image of the Timashevsky Dukhov Monastery, the "Vladimir" icon of the Mother of God, has a very interesting story. The first parish, where Father George served, belongs to the Arkhangelsk diocese. Once the granddaughter of a murdered man in the 30syears, the priest brought a holy image as a gift, telling the story of the miracle that happened.

At that time, an atheistic campaign was going on all over Russia, which did not bypass the Archangel churches. People with power broke into the house of one of the priests and demanded immediate gathering and the departure of the priest with his family for exile. The priest decided to pray before the long journey and turned to the home iconostasis. At that moment, tears flowed from the eyes of the image of the Mother of God. One of the executors who came, seeing the miracle, decided to put an end to the icon and shot it, after which he also shot at the priest.

Blood poured from the icon's bullet holes. By evening, the man who shot at the priest and the image committed suicide. The priest's family remained in their home, determined to keep the miracle a secret. The icon was hidden and preserved to this day, and the priest's granddaughter presented it as a gift to Father George. He brought it with him to the new place of service, now it is installed in the altar of the Church of the Holy Spirit Monastery.

Rector Father George

The future abbot of the Timashevsky Holy Spirit Monastery was born in 1942 in Transcarpathia. The family was a believer, and therefore it is not surprising that Savva decided to devote his life to God. He received his first obedience at the age of 14 in the Transfiguration Monastery in the city of Tereblia. Gradually, the cloisters were closed, and in 1961 he left for Nikolaev. For three years (1962-1965) he served in the army.

Under the leadership of Father Georgy, the Timashevsk Monastery was actively developing, bringing benefits to parishioners and society as a whole. Responding to the requests of girls who wanted to become monks, the abbot petitioned for the opening of a convent. The case gained realization in 1994 - the convent of Mary Magdalene was transferred to the village of Rogovskaya. With the labors and cares of Father George, they built a temple, equipped a subsidiary farm.

Timashevsky Monastery today has four farmsteads:

The abbot of the Timashevsk Monastery, Father Georgy, was an outstanding healer who managed to help many suffering people. On the slopes of the Carpathian Mountains, a storehouse of we alth is stored in the forests, you just need to know how to dispose of it. Creating collections of herbs, accompanying the process with prayer and good wishes for he alth, healing of the body and soul, the priest helped in the treatment of the most difficult diseases.

Much of the knowledge about the properties of herbs was learned by him in a monastery that stood on the border of Ukraine and Romania, where he labored as a novice in his youth.

Towards the end of his earthly life, many people from all over Russia went for treatment to the Timashevsky Monastery. Many pilgrims believe that the help received from the hands of Father George healed in cases where official medicine refused to recover. The pastor himself noted that there is no merit in the retreat of the disease, only the Lord heals human bodies and souls, and he himself is only an instrument in the hands of Providence.

Benefits of tea

The herbs that make up tea have long been known for their healing properties: they strengthen the body, stimulate the immune system, help eliminate toxins, and help the body fight many diseases. Father George recommended that everyone who came to him for treatment add a few drops of holy water to the broth. But he considered the inner spiritual state of a person to be the most important in the treatment - repentance, communion, inner prayer and following the commandments.

Today, this and many other medical fees left by the rector of the Holy Spirit Timashevsk monastery can be purchased at the monastery shop. The brethren honor the traditions laid down by the founder and strictly follow the recipe, trying to help every pilgrim or parishioner who asks for help.
