Until recently, the monastery had an old church with a tent-type bell tower in the name of Our Lady of Kazan. It was an unspoken symbol of the city, but, unfortunately, at the beginning of the 21st century, it was partially destroyed by fire.

The bell tower and the main cathedral create a single complex of architecture, impressing with its beauty. In these buildingsyou can see many elements that came to these territories from Byzantium. The walls of the buildings are finished with pinkish brick, which goes well with decorative elements made of white marble. The tent tops crown the domes with gilded crosses.

The building of the bell tower in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Alatyr has several functions. This is clearly expressed in the architectural techniques used in its construction. In addition to the fact that bells are placed in the building, the building was erected in such a way that it is the main entrance to the monastery. Because of this, the bell tower is called over the gate. In addition, there is a temple and access to various buildings of the monastery (museum, library, storage and technical premises).

Currently, 80 monks (sometimes more) live permanently in the monastery. Also in the warm season and on major Orthodox holidays, you can meet a large number of pilgrims and tourists here. The monastery has a farmstead, which is called "Christmas Skete", it is located 15 km from the monastery. The farmstead owns more than 400 hectares of land, on which the monks grow grain, legumes, fodder, vegetables and fruits. There are more than 120 cows, a poultry house is operating, and fish are bred in an artificial pond.

The grown products are sold, and the proceeds are directed to charity and to the construction of new temples. So, for example, a temple was recently built in the name of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God.
