For many years, such a position as a psychologist-teacher has been available in schools, kindergartens, hospitals and even office buildings. This practice is carried out by people who are psychologists by education, who in some way have both medical and pedagogical knowledge. Often in large teams there are problems of various kinds, which not everyone is able to solve. Similar incidents can also be characteristic of people with a narrow circle of friends.

So, a psychologist-teacher is most often invited to kindergartens and schools. This kind of specialist is necessary for children, so that he directs their spiritual development in the right direction, establishes moral values, solves problems of an existential nature, and also eliminates possible tendencies to personality disorder. In any team, a psychologist-teacher works to improve the microclimate and any interactions between its participants, builds relationships, and eliminates conflicts. A psychological analysis is also mandatory.

However, the activity of the educational psychologist is not limited to such analytical studies and lectures, whichnormalize the "weather" in society. It often happens that in one class (group, team), in principle, work goes on as usual, but an individual experiences some discomfort.

It can be associated with relationships with other members of society, with the acceptance of oneself and one's responsibilities, with internal adaptation, and so on. Thus, the psychologist-teacher provides reliable protection of the psychological he alth of each child in the class, each employee in the team where he is invited. Also, a specialist of this kind (in particular, one who works in children's institutions) contributes to the personal development of each child.

The very principle of work of such an important specialist also deserves special attention. As a rule, the program of a teacher-psychologist is closely connected with the school course, the subjects and activities that children study in kindergartens, with the direction of activity that is characteristic of a particular organization. In the course of analysis, numerous tests and seminars conducted by psychologists in society, the competence of each employee directly in a particular field of activity, the ability of a student to perceive information, the peculiarities of his thinking and inclinations are clarified. As a rule, it is the psychologist-teacher who indirectly forms classes: mathematical, humanitarian, musical.

Being in the school community, the "engineer of baby souls" must take into account the process of growing up students. For every agecategory, a separate program is being developed, which is connected both with the knowledge that is given in the lessons and with the developmental features of the nervous system. For example, first-graders are easily "read" by a psychologist in their drawings, applications, and also in the manner of keeping notebooks. Looking at these attributes, the specialist immediately reveals many personality traits, temperament and even addictions of the ward. Later, children are asked to take psychological tests and training, in which they must answer questions, imagine themselves in various situations and conduct their own research.
