Hadith Qudsi and their meaning in Islam

Probably every Muslim knows well what hadiths are. These are the sayings or actions of Mohammed, the founder of the religion of Islam. All hadiths are included in the Sunna, which is one of the foundations of Sharia. They are considered reliable if there is an isnad - a chain of people who transmitted them. Muhaddiths carefully study the chains of transmission of messages and their shortcomings. Hafiz has the highest degree in this matter. He must know a huge number of authentic hadiths, as well as be able to confirm their reliability. Among other things, a hafiz can separate truthful messages from doubtful ones, understands the methods of their transmission, and has a clear understanding of the types of isnads. To this day, there have been reports of the meticulousness of the work of Islamic scholars, whoI had to collect information about the actions and statements of Muhammad. In addition, many claimed to be considered hafiz, having neither the knowledge nor the skills necessary for this.

But back to our topic. There is a separate group of authentic hadiths that differs from the rest. In them, the speech of Muhammad, according to the beliefs of Muslims, outlining the words of Allah himself, is transmitted in the first person, but is not a direct revelation. These are Hadith Qudsi. They can be read without prior washing; they are not used in prayers. Qudsi hadiths are comparatively few and occur in about a hundred different reports. Some of them were put into collections by Muslim scholars.

All hadith Qudsi begin with the words "O my servants." They can be conditionally divided into affirming the unity and exclusivity of God, establishing the rules of rituals, strengthening faith in the Day of Judgment and prescribing norms of behavior.

Hadith Qudsi are not obligatory to read and study, unlike the Quran. Despite this, they play an important role in Islam. Many of them are recommendations that carry extraordinary meaning. These are hadiths about the life of devout Muslims. In particular, they prescribe to be content with little, to avoid envy, to be laconic, patient, and virtuous. One hadeeth Qudsi recommends doing good even to those who treat you unfavorably. These religious texts emphasize the need to do good deeds and repent for sins committed. SomeKursi hadiths actually repeat the well-known saying from the Koran that actions are judged by intentions. In general, they remind of the main pillars of faith, duties and virtues.
