The Philadelphia experiment is so heavily overgrown with secrets and mysteries that it is quite difficult to believe in the very fact of its existence. However, a lot of evidence from eyewitnesses and participants in the events does not completely forget the events that took place in October 1943. What really happened then? Was the fact of a monstrous incident or is it all just a fantasy in order to increase the popularity of the US Navy?

Long before the invasion of fascist troops on peaceful territories, there was a problem of improving military equipment, and one of the aspects was the question of hiding military installations from the eyes and radars of the enemy. And if now it seems possible, then at that time all this was under development and at the stage of testing various theoretical proposals.

It is impossible to say how many proposals the government received,but he chose one that seemed most plausible - the creation of a strong magnetic field of a certain shape, which is capable of completely hiding military equipment from view. The experiment was named "Rainbow", a date was set.

According to eyewitnesses, after the start of the experiment, the ship disappeared from sight, leaving only a thick green fog in its place. After his appearance in front of everyone, it turned out that out of a huge crew (of 181 people), only two dozen remained unharmed, the rest either disappeared, or died from electric shock and fear, or literally fused with the structure of the ship.

Of course, after the end of the experiment, the ship was sold, the results were classified, and everyone who survived was ordered not to disclose the secret. By the way, the latter claim that nothing tragic happened during the experiment, and the experiment itself was conducted for a different reason.

As for the people involved in the above-mentioned events, the names of the crew members or those who gave the relevant orders either did not survive, or they sound different in different sources. But the two well-known names, whose initiative one way or another inspired the military to conduct the Philadelphia experiment, remained unchanged and are widely known around the world.

Probably the biggest source of myths and most absurd theories to proveimpossible for one simple reason - all the archives of the records of the great scientist went to the US government and, like many other significant discoveries, were classified. No historical documents that could confirm or refute the existing myth have been found, or they are fairly well classified. The only thing that can be found after a fairly lengthy search is photographs and videos of the destroyer itself with the crew members who served on it at the time of capture.

Possible source of myths

No matter what anyone claims, the Philadelphia experiment somehow took place. True, in a slightly different form than the chilling legend offers us.

One of the most practical and plausible theories at the time was degaussing the ship's hull to hide it from radar fields. For this, the hulls were wrapped with wires, which, together with the ship, created a powerful electromagnet.

As a result, most of the instruments "went crazy", and the crew had unpleasant sensations. It is impossible to say with complete certainty that such tests did not exist, just as it is impossible to say the opposite. After all, everything that could confirm the Philadelphia experiment (photos, videos and other documents) is hidden from the public in various ways.

It is quite possible that the classification of events, as well as the creation of false information for the purpose of misinformation, are just ways to hide a failed experience that could easily undermine the authority of the emerging "world" state. And if we admit the very fact of mass casu alties due to the fault of the state, then this is the best way to avoid responsibility for what we have done.

In any case, whatever happens on October 28, 1943, it will most likely forever remain a mystery that is not destined to be solved.
