This beautiful, majestic building is located directly at the entrance to the city, on the left side of Telman Street. The building of the temple of Alexander Nevsky in Baranovichi was erected relatively recently, at the end of the last century. Description
The Alexander Nevsky Temple in Baranovichi was built in 1998. Previously, the church of the same name already stood at this place in the city, which was demolished after the war during the redevelopment of the city. The building has two aisles - lower and upper. The church itself, the gate bell tower and the sanctuary chapel, made in the classical Orthodox style, invariably arouse the admiration of believers. Anniversary
In September 2018, in the church of Alexander Nevsky in Baranovichi, believers celebrated the patronalfeast of the transfer of the relics of Alexander Nevsky. In addition, the twentieth anniversary of the temple was also celebrated on this day. The Divine Liturgy was served by Archbishop Stefan of Pinsk and Luninets, co-served by the clergy of the Baranovichi Deanery. Upon graduation, the believers were offered a festive concert by the clergy choir led by N. Gankov at the city House of Culture.
History
The Temple of Alexander Nevsky (Baranovichi) is a monumental building, which is one of the best decorations of the city, invariably attracting the attention of tourists.
The consecration of the church took place in 1998. The cemetery church, which was previously located here, built in honor of Prince Alexander Nevsky, was destroyed at the end of the Great Patriotic War during the redevelopment of the city. In 1992, the parish community was reorganized. The first rector of the temple (as well as the initiator of its construction) was Archpriest Alexander Dzichkovsky. The project was developed by the Honored Architect of Belarus Leonid Makarevich.
Construction began in 1993, in the summer of 1995 the consecration of the lower church, erected in honor of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk, took place. In 1998, the upper church, named after St. Alexander Nevsky, was consecrated. In 2000, a parish house was built here, and in 2003, a water-blessed chapel. In 2011, the construction of the gate bell tower was completed.
Today
Currently, the church is actively engaged in charitable andmissionary activity. The sisterhood of St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk and the brotherhood of St. Alexander Nevsky operate at the temple. The parish of the church conducts an active religious activity: classes for adults and children are held in the Sunday school functioning here, circles of theatrical art and church singing work. In the summer, parishioners organize children's recreation in country camps. The rector of the temple today is Archpriest Vitaly Lozovsky.

The throne of the upper church was consecrated in honor of Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky, the lower one is dedicated to St. Euphrosyne of Polotsk.
Legendary Prince Alexander Nevsky, revered as the patron saint of the military, is one of the most beloved and popular Christian saints. From the school history course, many people know about the victories of the prince in the battle on Lake Peipsi over the Teutonic Knights and the Swedes. During the Great Patriotic War, they prayed to the saint, asking for protection for loved ones.
Reverend Euphrosyne of Polotsk, a princess of Polotsk by origin, is revered as the first woman in Russia, canonized as a saint for her spiritual service and educational activities.
