Many families in our country are forced to live next to unbalanced people, many of whom are on the verge between the world of normal and mentally ill. However, in today's difficult conditions of life, this is not surprising. The fragile psyche of an individual easily cracks when it is difficult for her to cope with the burden of problems that have piled on.
A mentally unstable person is a danger to society. He spoils the lives of those around him for the simple reason that, as they say, bribes are smooth from him. Nothing will happen to him for small inappropriate actions. Being considered sick, he is not responsible to society and the law. It would seem that the wisest way out is to place an unpredictable person in an appropriate institution. But not everything is so simple.
He's not violent…
Not so long ago (back in the days of the Union, unloved by many), a socially dangerous person could be sent for examination and, having been recognized as abnormal, forcibly treated. Now everything has become more humane. And a neighbor's statement is not enough to put someone in isolation. Even clear signs of a mental disorder are notare a strong argument for coercion to treatment. These actions are possible only with the consent of relatives.
However, the sick person himself can turn to a specialist and agree to treatment. But, alas, this is extremely rare. Naturally, an unpredictable person considers himself quite sane and is not going to spend time in the proposed department. His relatives who are with him are in no hurry to act: for them he is not a stranger, it is a pity to give him somewhere.
But it happens that such an individual escapes from supervision at moments of exacerbation (spring, autumn) and is able to cause not only harm by his actions, but also cause great grief to others.
Relatives of an unbalanced person should always be "in good shape" in order to neutralize their patient at any time. Even the fact that he is not rambunctious is not an excuse for him to go out on his own. For such people, even after many years of trouble-free life (for others) in society, something can happen that can turn everything around. And now the children playing peacefully in the sandbox seem to him to be devils, and the thought ringing inside the unhe althy brain says that it is necessary to save the world from evil spirits, and only he is able to do this.
What to do if you encounter a mentally ill individual?
- Do not look into the eyes of a sick person, which means an unpredictable person. His brain works in such a way that your hard look can cause different reactions. Well, if he gets scared and just runs away. But the opposite can also happen:will attack you for reasons known only to him. And the physical strength of such people is many times greater than the capabilities of ordinary citizens - this is not a legend.
- If you had to say something to the patient, do it in a calm voice, slowly.
- Always be prepared for the worst possible scenario. Move more than a meter away from the unpredictable person whenever possible.
- Patients with manic-depressive psychosis, like schizophrenics, are generally not susceptible to pain. They cannot be neutralized using a gas canister or punches. If you can't avoid a collision, just run away and call for help loudly.
- Escape failed? Now the manifestation of even the slightest weakness is unacceptable - the patient is able to pounce with piercing and cutting objects. He can use rebar and other dangerous objects. Nothing will happen to a schizophrenic even if he kills a few people - he is a sick person, and the sick must be treated humanely. And in a situation of aggressive behavior of an abnormal person, you need to think not about the legality of your actions, but about the safety of your only life.
How to understand that you are sick?
There are several signs that help you understand who you are dealing with:
- The look of a mentally deranged person will always betray him. It is empty and at times as if turned inward.
- While walking, such an unpredictable person candancing and waving your arms, constantly touching yourself and scratching, stroking.
- In contrast to increased activity, inhibition of actions can also happen.
- He is characterized by "grimacing" - the image of something with his facial expressions.
- Talk to yourself. Yes, this person talks to voices in his imagination, and others see how he talks to himself. With an interesting conversation, for example, he is even able to joke and laugh himself. The conversation doesn't always happen out loud. There are cunning personalities who try to hide the fact of a conversation with voices in their heads from others. But since it is not possible for the patient to leave unanswered questions that arise, he can answer in a whisper.
Be considerate of the people around you.
