What is vice?

First of all, you need to define the concepts. So, what are the vices and virtues of man? They must be considered together, because they are a reflection of each other, different sides of the same coin. These are the negative and positive aspects of a person's character, which are manifested in his deeds and actions. These character traits shape not only the life of one person, but also influence others, therefore they can significantly change the lives of loved ones both in a positive direction - virtues, and a negative one - vices.

About sculptures

If you want to take a close look at all the vices of humanity, you should go to Moscow and visit Bolotnaya Square. It was there, in 2001, that a series of monuments dedicated to the negative aspects of a person's character was opened. This composition is called "Children - victims of the vices of adults." Two children are playinghide and seek, and they are surrounded by 13 sculptures of three meters in height with the heads of fish or animals. As the author Mikhail Shemyakin said, this was done on purpose, because it is customary to depict human vices in hypertrophied images. The monuments are arranged in a strict order. Among them one can find theft, prostitution, drug addiction, ignorance, alcoholism, false learning, sadism, indifference, propaganda of violence, exploitation of child labor, war and poverty. One monument for the forgotten.

Indifference

If a person is asked to highlight the main vices of a person, for example, five, he will become thoughtful. And it is worth saying that no one will have a single answer. After all, the choice is an individual matter. For some, one vice will be the most terrible, and someone will treat it condescendingly. However, a huge number of people agree that the first and most important vice is still indifference. This is the lack of empathy for one's own kind, that is, for people and all other representatives of the living world. It is this trait that is inherent in most murderers and rapists, it gives rise to unrest, permissiveness and impunity.

Deceitfulness

The next human vice is deceit. Which, today, by the way, is often considered almost a virtue. After all, earning, for example, a lot of money in the modern world is possible only by deception. However, it should be said that a deceitful person never cares about the feelings of others, he has a disregard attitude. “Having lied once, he will deceive a second time” - everyone should remember this saying.

Sale

This is a well-disguised human vice that is not so easy to recognize. Often it manifests itself in special life situations when it is necessary to provide protection and rear. Agree, he is the most terrible in wartime?

Animal

This vice characterizes people who live exclusively for themselves, satisfying all their "animals", primary needs. Often they are stupid and ignorant.

Greed

Another very terrible human vice is greed. It can be either just hoarding, or a thirst for we alth accumulation, a desire to own as many valuables and material goods as possible. Such people never share anything, and the feeling of generosity is simply alien to them.

Hypocrisy

The next vice of a person, which, by the way, is sometimes very difficult to recognize. Hypocritical people in every situation choose a position convenient for themselves in order to extract the maximum benefit. Such persons put on a “mask” in order to look better in the eyes of the “right” people than they really are.

Envy

The next human vice is envy. It often manifests itself in hostility and hostility towards a certain person who has reached great heights. Someone else's well-being overshadows the mind of an envious person and introduces him into a constant state of dissatisfaction with himself and his prosperity.

Cruelty

A terrible vice that is inherent in rapists, murderers and other criminal personalities. It is expressed in the desire or need to inflict pain on all living beings (not only people, butand animals). They cause pain not only from the physical side, for example, beatings, but also from the psychological side - sometimes moral pressure is much more difficult to endure … If the object of cruelty feels bad, the tormentor experiences satisfaction and some kind of joy.

Angry

When considering human vices, one should not ignore malice. Some people are angry at everyone and everything, they are irritable, often foul and rude.

Cunning

The next vice is cunning (today it is also viewed by some people in a positive sense). This means that a person can be so contrived and contrived that he receives the maximum benefit for himself, often to the detriment of others.

Selfishness

Some overestimation of the importance of one's own person in comparison with others. It can be expressed in a disdainful attitude towards other people, towards their interests.

Insolence

Another vice of a person, which manifests itself in disrespect, contempt for the interlocutor. May be accompanied by rude gestures, abusive speech. Such behavior is typical of types who feel their impunity and superiority.

Vanity

This is the desire of a person to attract attention in any way, even if it is negative behavior. Such characters love to hear eulogies addressed to them, they want to climb a pedestal during their lifetime. Often empty braggarts behave like this.

Opposites

It is worth saying that all these are acquired vices. A person is born a tabula rasa - a blank slate, on which the closest environment (parents and society) write their, as they say today, reviews. In adulthood, a person can get rid of all his vices and turn them into virtues. So, sympathy corresponds to indifference, honesty - honesty, venality - fidelity, greed - generosity, hypocrisy - sincerity, envy - joy, cruelty - tenderness, anger - kindness, cunning - straightforwardness, selfishness - self-giving, arrogance - compliance, and vanity - modesty.. But working on yourself is one of the most difficult…
