Ufa is a great city with many opportunities. There are many wonderful and interesting places for tourists to visit. It is rich in various liturgical places - churches, temples, which rise majestically against the blue sky. Some of them will be described below.

Church of the Virgin in Ufa

The Cathedral Church of the Nativity of the Virgin is located in the Kirovsky district of the city. It is very spacious: several thousand visitors can be there at the same time. The Church of the Nativity in Ufa is dressed in sky blue and decorated with gold domes. The floor, the walls are made of different stones - Italian, Greek, Pakistani. To date, the building has been reconstructed 4 times.

The church was first built in 1889 (according to some sources in 1901) on the initiative of Bishop Anthony. The Ufa merchant Nikifor Patokin helped speed up the construction by donating a certain amount of money. The temple was made of brick, the floors were made of asph alt with cemented edges. In 1909, which is considered the year when the construction of the church was completed, the consecration was carried out.

The building also served as a hospital in 1919 after the revolution, but retained its coordinated functions.

From 1955 to 1991 it was decided to convert the temple of the Virgin into a cinema, as a result of which most of the building was destroyed.

Since 1991, it has been functioning again as an Orthodox church. Moreover, an update was made, after which the temple looked even better. The reconstruction lasted for a long 15 years.

At the moment there is a schedule of the temple of Ufa for visitors. According to it, the church is located on Kirov Street, 102, and accepts everyone from 07:00 to 18:30 without breaks and days off.

Ex altation of the Cross Church

The Church of the Ex altation of the Holy Cross is located in a residential area of Ufa - Nizhegorodka, not far from the Right Belaya platform. The temple is made in the Russian wooden style. It has seven domes and is painted white.

To build a temple was the idea of the Ufa merchant Trofim Kozlov, who planned to do it with his own money. He managed to obtain permission for this. Already in 1892, the construction of the temple of Ufa began, and a year later it was completed and the building was consecrated.

After 10 years, the temple was decided to expand, as a result of which it became a three- altar one. After 1937, it narrowly escaped demolition and ceased to exist. It was used as a warehouse. Divine services resumed only during the Great Patriotic War.

Currently, the temple of Ufa accepts everyone from 8:30 to 17:00, at the address: streetSawmill, 2.
