Christianity is a world religion, the emergence of which is the subject of eternal discussions and disagreements. Philosophers and representatives of the spiritual stratum of society are not completely sure of all the facts that history provides on this occasion, but one thing is certain: Christianity arose on the territory of modern Palestine. The territory of this state was constantly changing (this is happening today), so now Jerusalem is considered the birthplace of this world religion.
The birth of Christianity is identified with the birth of Jesus, whom the people called Christ, that is, "the anointed one." As you know, the child of the Virgin Mary was considered the Son of God, since he preached dogmas that were completely unusual for that time, which were characterized by a humane attitude towards man. Jesus gathered a lot of disciples around him, who later became apostles and contributed to the spread of this faith throughout the world. It is worth noting that in those distant centuries, many people, knowing that Christianity arose in a territory that seemed to be under the rule of the Jews, confused these two religions. Which caused a lot of controversy and misunderstandings that had to be resolved by writing the Holy Book - the Bible.
Perhaps no other faith has so many ramifications. It is worth noting that Christianity, out of the three world religions, occupies the 2nd place in terms of age, but has three main currents and a whole mass of their offshoots, which have spread like a web around the globe. Despite the fact that Christianity originated in the Middle East, they believe in the Son-Savior in Europe, Russia, the Wild West and Latin countries, but the Holy Land (Jerusalem) remained faithful to Judaism.
It was on this ground that many conflicts erupted, which led to blood and grief. The first, less cruel, are the Ecumenical Councils, which were held within seven centuries from the moment of the death of Jesus. They are associated with the emergence and spread of heresy, which challenged the dogmas written in the Bible. Church patriarchs also spoke out against the iconoclasts, who were finally abolished during the last Council of Nicaea. Since Christianity arose on the territory of a country in which, paradoxically, it did not spread, the Crusader knights decided to conquer the Holy Land. The armies created by the Pope stormed Israel for several centuries, and behind them were listed asvictories as well as defeats. Nevertheless, the Jewish world did not give up, as we can witness.
Surely knowing where Christianity originated, one can be surprised by this religion more and more. In 1054 (the Great Schism), this once Eastern faith was divided between Constantinople, which adopted the rank of Orthodoxy, and Rome, in which Catholicism triumphed. During the Reformation in the 16th century, Protestantism appeared and Lutheranism, Calvinism and other beliefs arising from it. On the territory of America, as a result of a mixture of local Indian traditions and imported European dogmas, Marmons, Baptists, etc. appeared.
Today, many even the most religious people do not think about the territory in which Christianity originated, and simply know that God, the Almighty, the Father and his Son Christ love them and support them both in moments of joy and in difficult times.
