Khlysty is the most mysterious sect of all that had any popularity on the territory of Russia. In the public mind, along with other vices of apostates, it is traditionally associated with sinful sin. This notion of whips may be false.
A sect arose in the 17th century, the founder of this rather strange religious trend was a certain Danila Filippovich, who announced that he was the earthly incarnation of God.
There are two main names of the sect - “Christs” and “whips”, they are consonant, each of them in its own way expresses the essence of the teachings of Danila: as soon as he could call himself Saboath like that, then others can compete with Jesus. One of the elements of divine services is self-flagellation for the purpose of mortifying the flesh.
Despite the fact that almost from the very beginning of Khlystism, persistent rumors have been circulating among the people about some erotic background of the ceremony of night worship, the sin of sin is not their obligatory moment. The fact is that each community of this sect is an independent community called a ship, and this denomination does not have a single center. Despite considerable attention from the authoritiesand law enforcement agencies of both the Tsarist Russian Empire and the Soviet Union, no direct evidence of such a cheerful promiscuity was obtained.
The fact that the leadership of the sect can appoint a "wife in Christ" to one of its adherents may be true, but the big question is whether the newly-named spouses will be pleased with the matrimonial status they have acquired.
Life in most sects is regulated by fairly authoritarian orders, whips are no exception. The dumping sin, also called sodomy, somehow does not fit into the general concept of the suppression of carnal desires, in contrast to castration, which is resorted to by the most ardent adherents of this creed, who have emerged as a separate direction. Most of the first eunuchs are former whips.
Like any other false and heretical dogma, Khlystism was persecuted by the Orthodox Church and the Russian state. In some cases, the punishment was very severe - from exile to the death pen alty. Sinful sin was also imputed, albeit without the proper evidence base, which would be required in modern politically correct times. However, today they wouldn’t even judge him - there is no corpus delicti.
Another distinguishing aspect of whiplash is the rejection of alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and eating meat. In addition to vegetarianism, the rejection of other gastronomic excesses is also confessed. Asceticism in food is complemented by a persistent rejection of anyliterature, the “embodied Savoaf” Danila himself served as an example in this, drowning all the books available to him in the Volga, claiming that they were not needed at all. It is unlikely that whips, at least for the most part, would trade all the blessings of civilization for sin.
Be that as it may, several communities belonging to this heretical creed still exist today. They are acquired in the Caucasus, as well as in some regions of the country: Orenburg, Samara and Tambov. From the side of the police, there seems to be no complaints against them, but it is not known whether they are engaged in debauchery and sinful sin on the “ships”.
