One of the most significant in the behavior of both an individual and large social groups is a stable set of concepts and meanings, in accordance with which the entire existence of a group or individual is built. Value orientation is the fundamental basis of the existence of any society. This is a set of certain initial concepts, which unites people into single communities according to one or another set of features.
But society is made up of individuals. And the value orientation is also a set of concepts according to which each individual exists within society. Deviation from generally accepted norms and values is not approved by society. The commonality of value orientations is the very spiritual bonds that make a large group of disparate people a single people.
The position of an individual in society is largely determined by value orientations. This set of concepts and principles cannot conflict with those generally accepted in a particular social environment.
Value orientation is, in fact, the main characteristic of a person. In addition to personal qualities, such as passionarity, charisma and creativity, it is she who largely determines the fate and social potential of each individual. It is impossible to underestimate the importance that the formation of value orientations of the younger generation has. Without a certain set of core qualities, a person simply will not be successful, no matter what path he chooses for himself. If a person from childhood has the potential of a leader and is charged to achieve success at any cost, then it is very likely that a person will achieve his success in life. He will overcome all obstacles and crush all competitors. To put it very briefly, value orientation is destiny. From how it will be formed, the future of a person, and everything that he will achieve in his life, directly depends: well-being, career, social influence.
Politics as a struggle of value orientations
Nothing else but the struggle of the value orientations of large groups of the population for influence on society as a whole, politics is not. Each interested social group is actively trying to impose its value orientations on the whole society. The methodology of such promotion can be the most varied and unpredictable, but ultimately rests on money and control over the media.
One often hears that the only rule in this struggle for value orientations is the absence of any rules. Most often, in the sphere of the struggle for dominance, two opposingbeginnings: conservative-protective and progressive-liberal. Naturally, religion, regardless of denomination, cannot stand aside from value concepts.
Priests in different attire are actively trying to control the situation and impose their value orientations even on those who do not ask them about it.
