On the origin of the name
Holy Theophany of the Lord, after which the temple is named, is one of the oldest Christian holidays (along with Pentecost and Easter), dedicated to the birth of Christ and the events that accompanied it. Epiphany, which is also called Epiphany, is celebrated in Russia on January 19th. Water is blessed in temples during the feast. The Orthodox in Russia widely support the tradition of bathing on this day in special holes with blessed water - "Jordan", symbolizing the baptism of Jesus Christ in the holy Jordan River.
History
The construction of the Miass Church of the Holy Theophany was started in 1994 at the expense of the automobile plant, led at that time by Yuri Gorozhaninov. Construction was suspended due to difficulties experienced by the enterprise. The construction of the church resumed in 2004. Financial participation in this project, along with AZ "Ural", was taken by: the charitable foundation "Paritet", Miass DRSU, LLC "Ural-Trade", LLC "Kemma". Priest Igor Kazantsev made an invaluable contribution to the organization of construction.
For some time, services were held in an unfinished church (in the basement of the building). The clergy and parishioners faced difficult trials. They fervently prayed that the Lord would help them complete the charitable work they had begun. Construction was completed in 2007. In 2012, the finally rebuilt church was opened for worship.
Today
And today there are entrepreneurs and organizations ready to act as patrons and helpers of the temple.
