Character is a system of relatively constant mental characteristics of an individual that determines behavior in various life circumstances and when interacting with society. It is directly related to temperament and other aspects of personality. Temperament determines the form of the external manifestation of character. The formation of the latter is strongly influenced by the social conditions under which a person's personality was formed, and that is why people who were brought up in similar conditions have many of his features.
Character is a fundamental part that directly affects how a person behaves in relation to the current situation, and first of all, how he reacts to emerging stressful situations. Experts distinguish several groups of character traits, which determine how a person reacts to circumstances and shows his individuality.
The first group includes those features that show the attitude of the individual to the team, societyand other people. They include sociability, respect for other people, responsiveness and sensitivity; opposite features - isolation, contempt for other people.
It is customary to refer to the second group those character traits that express a person's attitude to his work and work. For example, conscientiousness and responsibility for one's work, or passivity and laziness.
The third group of character traits shows how a person feels about himself.
The last, fourth group, characterizes a person's attitude to things (how neat or slovenly he is, carefully or casually approaches his things).
Character is a fairly stable system. It usually develops in childhood or adolescence. However, a change in character is possible throughout life if the person himself wishes or in connection with new prevailing circumstances to which the individual needs to adapt. However, it should be borne in mind that individual character flaws cannot be overcome, just as positive qualities cannot be cultivated if the core, central relationship of the individual to work and the team is ignored. It is impossible to form only one single property taken separately. In order to change the character, it is necessary to develop the whole system of interrelated qualities, while special attention must be paid to the formation of the core relationships of the individual.
Character is the basis of the happiness and well-being of every person. Its formation should be thought about as early as possible. The nature of the childis formed on the basis of the conditions and ideas in which he is before reaching adulthood, therefore, to a greater extent, the future of an individual person depends on the social conditions and ideas in which he is brought up. It should be remembered that the properties of the character of each individual depend to a greater extent not on hereditary factors, but on the social environment and conditions under which the personality was formed.
