A lot of words we regularly use without thinking about their true meaning. This is because they are so firmly entrenched in our subconscious and speech that their meaning seems obvious, therefore, does not require additional interpretations. But when a person begins to understand this meaning, his consciousness expands, he begins to perceive the world differently. This article will focus on the fact that this is everyday life. How to understand this term and what does it mean?

Interpretation of the term

From a scientific point of view, everyday life is a socio-cultural, and at the same time an integral life world, which is presented in the functioning of society as a self-evident and natural condition of life. Often in psychological dictionaries you can find such a term as "everyday life". This is a synonym, and as close as possible to the previous term, which is deciphered in a similar way. It is presented as the main process of human life, which is found in familiar situations. It is distinguished by non-reflexivity, a stereotyped perception of all itsparticipants, the motives of their involvement. In a broad sense, it becomes clear that the term should be understood as everything that surrounds us every day, all those who live next to us, even strangers, all the events and phenomena inherent in the place where we are. This is everyday life, that is, our being.

Basics

Now everyday life is considered by many humanities - sociology, history, philosophy, anthropology, cultural studies. But in the old days, this term was studied and, in fact, arose within the framework of only one doctrine - ontology. That is, within the framework of already "dead" metaphysics, in its section on being and its essence, people in ancient times studied this concept, tried to understand its essence and principles of action. Moreover, this was done very successfully, because modern researchers still use the achievements of their ancestors. They are presented to us in the form of contrast schemes, on the basis of which the essence of the term itself is based:

  • Weekdays - holiday or leisure.
  • Public forms of activity - specialized or higher forms of activity.
  • Routine - moments of extreme psychological stress.
  • Reality is the ideal.

Classic approach

After the ancient scientists, they began to study everyday life again only at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. Then this term was actively considered within the framework of Freudianism, Marxism and structural functionalism, and in many respects their developments were similar. So, according to the general opinion, everyday life is the lowest level of reality, a value that can be neglected. In other words, it seemed to be a kind of surface, moreover, flat, beyond which there was depth. Many researchers called everyday life a veil of fetishistic forms, behind which the true, genuine reality was hidden. Separately, it is worth emphasizing that this "veil" consisted of different, so to speak, elements for representatives of one direction or another:

  • Freudianism - everyday life was presented in the form of economic relations and useless social ties.
  • Marxism is a stable socio-psychological structure that largely determined a person's worldview and established norms of behavior.
  • Structural functionalism is a mindset.

Research specifics

For a person who was seriously engaged in the study of this metaphysical phenomenon, a kind of struggle with everyday life was inevitable. He considered it as a kind of prism through which he, willy-nilly, should observe everything that happens and draw conclusions. Also, this prism was a support for the rationality of his judgments and conclusions, otherwise one could easily get lost in the "ocean of truth", which was behind its veil. Nevertheless, this "prism" was regularly tested for truth. Everyone had their own methods, depending on the approach, but in general, the researchers came to the conclusion that there is practically no dogma in everyday life. This veil is illusory and artificially created, and all in order to about the true natureno one could even have an idea.

Modern approach

The modern world in all its manifestations strives to become as tolerant, cosmopolitan, tolerant, open and generalized as possible. Traveling has become easier, everyone can learn foreign languages, as well as communicate with their native speakers, and the same can be said about any innovative development or scientific discovery - everything is in the public domain. Therefore, both among the general mass of people and among modern philosophers, such concepts as "truth hidden from everyone" have already become a relic of the past. The rulers of states are not perceived as elders who hide dogma from the people, but the essence of the concept of "veil" is still relevant. The approach to its consideration has changed, it has become more rational and less categorical. The framework of everyday life now includes all currently existing ontological concepts and phenomena. In other words, being is perceived as a set of "primitive" daily standard experience of an average person and knowledge, developments, achievements of people who are engaged in science, high art, research, etc.

The world of everyday life has become much wider and deeper. It can no longer be called a plane, since it embraces both conventional truth and alternative knowledge.

String theory

Yes, this is a completely new concept in the field of physics, which so far exists at the level of theory. Many do not believe in this version of the world, in particular, they are skeptics andpupils of the old system who do not want to accept new information. But the essence of the theory does not change from this - our world consists of many parallel realities in which the same electrons, protons and neutrons function according to similar, but not the same schemes. Perhaps we live in an era when metaphysics is about to be reborn - philosophy and physics are again united in order to give the most accurate and practical explanation for this discovery. What is it about everyday life? The fact is that the world is no longer perceived as something flat, that is, a "veil". A person begins to admit, both with his mind and with a word, that what he previously considered impossible, invented, unreal, is now part of his being. His daily routine expands and begins to move towards the very bottomless truth that was previously behind the curtain.

To each his own

Fortunately, the days when most people lived as prisoners are gone. In captivity of their own habits, norms, orders, rules and other restrictions. Most of the people today are free, moreover, those who do not have enough money, resources or other we alth can get it all - they will not be hindered. People are helped to "stand on their feet" by those who succeeded - trainings on personal growth, on achieving goals and success, etc. Therefore, every day more and more people become financially freer, they have their own and very constructive worldview, but at the same time open to learning new things. This is the very position that our ancestors aspired to when studying ontology. What is remarkable about all this? For people who have been able to achieve success or are on the way to it, such a thing as everyday life is something extremely pleasant, desired, cherished. They get up in the morning, full of strength and energy, and every day they do something new.

In a negative way

Because of certain personal beliefs, some people still cannot escape from the captivity of their own delusions. They are displayed on the being of a person as the so-called "lasso". This may be an uninteresting job, an unloved woman, a lack of hobbies and hobbies, dislike for others, excessive criticality, etc. Such people are not aggressive and not dangerous, but they are extremely boring, because their life is boring. For them, everyday life is something gray, hopeless, extremely undesirable and boring. There may be gaps in their lives. These are the very moments of happiness in which a person breaks out of the framework of everyday life and attaches himself to his own emotions, desires and impulses. But soon his habits and limits again take over him and return him to everyday life.

From a religious point of view

The church plays a key role in the lives of many believers. When a person becomes completely devoted to God, his priorities and outlook on life change, however, as does his being. The everyday life of a believer is a regular and tireless service to the Almighty, a desire to live every day in order toto make the world a better place, to show his Creator how faithful he is to him. Each individual religion has its own norms and customs, which form a holistic picture of life, that is, the duties of parishioners for every day. In the Orthodox world, all this can be represented in the calendar of everyday life - we have known him for a long time. This is a "book", consisting of 365 sheets. Each of them corresponds to a new day, and it says what church holiday it is today, what to do and what not to do.

From the position of mysticism

By analogy with religious tear-off calendars, their so-called "magical counterparts" appeared. Not all were adherents of church politics, especially people who grew up during the Soviet period, but many were interested in everything "beyond". In particular, women would be happy to look behind the veil of secrecy and find out what awaits them tomorrow, in a month, etc. This is how the lunar calendar of everyday life appeared, which was produced in twelve versions - for each zodiac sign. It was a kind of horoscope, which for many seemed effective and obligatory. It was also equipped with little female secrets and tips.

Appeal to feelings

As you know, the state of being in love turns even the most gray and gloomy everyday life into a permanent holiday. A person obsessed with feelings and constantly thinking about the object of his desires sees the world through a completely different prism. He perceives more sensitively everything that is connected with his soulmate, his actions are aimedto please her. Thus, the so-called romance of everyday life is born, that is, life turns into a continuous celebration of love. Sometimes we hear from people: "She made me live. She showed me the true world. She opened my eyes to happiness." This means that for a person, due to relationships, that same veil was opened, his reality expanded and became deeper due to emotions, pleasant experiences and the state of being in love. The romance of everyday life is the easiest way to get away from the dullness of everyday life, to make your life brighter without delving into philosophical and metaphysical analyses.

Being and cinema

Films and series - a certain separate side of reality. It cannot be called "improved", since the plot has both positive and negative hopeless pictures. But any of them, if it is filmed with high quality, as if pulling the viewer into their world, makes them think that this can become their reality. Ever wondered why this is so? The fact is that all films are based on the same everyday life, that is, they describe the life of ordinary or not very ordinary people. Everyone chooses a movie according to their taste and mood. A cheerful and positive person will watch comedies - in them the life of people is as optimistic as the viewer. An introvert with a complex mindset will rely on an art house, where strange things happen against the background of everyday life. Films in which the everyday aspect is missing do not draw us in, look like a dummy and are quickly forgotten.

By the way, it can be noted that the theme of being is also perfectly revealed in Japanese culture - anime and manga. Everyday life can be the main storyline against which other events take place. Fans note that even comics that describe real life events look very realistic and very addictive.
