Minchenko Stakhy Mikhailovich was born in the village of Sukhaya Berezovka, Voronezh Region, in 1942. He grew up like all ordinary village boys. However, his parents raised him in strictness and obedience. The decision to become a student of the seminary did not come to him immediately. First, he graduated from high school, then served his term in the army, then worked as a driver at the Novovoronezh nuclear power plant. And then one day he had to visit the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, then he understood his true path and destiny. Soon he entered the seminary at the correspondence department, he had to combine his studies with work at a brick factory.
Father Stakhiy: Filippovskoye village
In 1992, he began to serve in the St. Nicholas Filippovsky Church, which was practically destroyed. But Archpriest Stakhiy did not give up the difficulties and began to restore it, attracting parishioners to this. As a result, he turned it into a holy miracle of the Russian hinterland. The elder put a lot of his physical and mental strength into his monastery, and for this selfless work he did not remain withoutattention. And suddenly the pilgrimage service "Enlightenment" informed the believers that Father Stakhiy had rested peacefully. The village of Filippovskoye began to prepare for a worthy funeral of its deeply respected elder. The cause of his death was that a week before his death, his blood sugar spiked dramatically. He served Saturday and Sunday services and did not express any complaints. According to the headman of the temple, at about 19.00 he was joking with her, and it was clear that he felt cheerful, but by midnight he had a heart attack and his heart stopped.
The father had a son. He, too, was a priest who, just like his father, died suddenly. The cause was a detached blood clot, almost all priests suffer from this disease. In such cases, people usually say that the son took the father.
Funeral
On Monday night, the local metropolitan came to the temple. And by 9.00 o'clock before the service itself, many people arrived in the village of Filippovskoye, everyone wanted to venerate the hand of the pious elder. The funeral was attended by another son of Stakhia's father, and also a daughter arrived from Ukraine with her husband, a priest, and children. People were unable to hold back their tears. Everyone was surprised at how such a powerful spiritual strength and efficiency were hidden in such a fragile person of advanced age.
After the morning service on the day of the funeral, the local bishop came and served a memorial service. It ended at 3:00 pm, and even then the priests carried the body of the elder out of the temple and brought it to the grave in a procession.
The grave was prepared according to the will of Father Stakhia, it is located on the left near the altar of the temple, on the left between two trees, where there is only silence, grace and tranquility. At the grave, the local bishop delivered a farewell speech, and the priest was buried. Then funeral tables with kutya, pancakes and sandwiches were prepared for the people.
