Pregnancy is often discussed from many different angles: physical, psychological, material. But it is rarely mentioned that bearing a child is also a spiritual process, that in these short nine months not only arms and legs develop in the mother's tummy, but the formation of the soul takes place, the basic laying of the child's personality is underway.
For the proper growth of the baby's bones, you should eat cottage cheese, proteins are necessary for the formation of tissues and muscles, iron provides the baby with a supply of hemoglobin. And how to influence the formation of the soul, modern people do not know. Most only doubt: is it possible for pregnant women to go to church, is it worth listening to music?
How is the formation of the soul? The soul of a child is given by God at conception. Mothers who have carried at least three children can already confirm that even in the tummy, children behave in completely different ways. Some are calm, sometimes they push and are born at term, others push very hard, after birth they often worry. At such an early age, education does not matter yet, therefore, we have to admit that there is some experience that is received even before birth, which means that there is something that affects the child even before he is born.
First of all, this is the state of the mother. Is she calm or nervous? Is it peaceful or conflicting? How does he treat his baby? All this is important at the time of the formation of the personality of a small person. A baby can get nervous if the mother is fixated on he althy eating, figuring out what is impossible and what is possible for pregnant women. As a rule, there is no time to go to church in this case.
Of course, if a woman has he alth problems, bed rest is prescribed, then it is better not to risk it, the question of whether pregnant women can go to church is decided in this case negatively. You can also pray at home. For example, invite a priest to your home to perform a prayer service or communion. But when the condition improves, it is necessary to find out from the attending physician whether with such a diagnosis it is possible for pregnant women to go to church, stand there, or at least sit. Visiting a temple is not an end in itself. Humility, repentance for one's sins, peace with everyone and prayer for the child - these are excellent conditions in which a normal, he althy baby will be formed.
An Orthodox person usually observes fasts, stands on his feet during worship, makes prostrations. But for a pregnant woman, all this is not at all necessary. She's already doing a lot of work in
bearing a child, so fasting for her is significantly softened, you can sit down in the service, andprostrations are optional. The inner attitude in the Orthodox Church means much more than the outward manifestation of piety. Therefore, in deciding whether pregnant women can go to church, the main thing is the intention of the woman herself. If she wants to pray for herself and for the child, then it is not only possible, but necessary, to come to the temple.
But in the case when the temple is used as a place for performing some rituals, the question of whether pregnant women can go to church should be decided negatively. With these thoughts, you should not come to the temple under any circumstances!
