In 2010, a new attraction appeared in Pyatigorsk. This is a wooden temple of the Three Saints.

A few words should be said about the city itself: it is located at the foot of Mount Mashuk, which rises above the city from the east. The Beshtau mountain range is visible in the distance to the north. Literally translated, this means “five mountains.”

Hence the name - Pyatigorsk.

The Temple of the Three Hierarchs began to be built in 2009, it was built quite quickly. The very next year, in September 2010, construction was completed.

The rite of consecration was performed on November 26, 2011.

Besides this temple, there are eleven more Orthodox churches in the city.

The temple was consecrated in the name of the saints most revered by Christians of all denominations: Basil the Great, St. John (Chrysostom) and Gregory the Theologian.

Temple building and architecture

Coincidentally, on the day of the grand opening of the construction of the Church of the Three Hierarchs, Pyatigorsk celebrated City Day.

The temple was entirely built from logs brought from the city of Kirov, and built within a year.

Today it is unique in architecture and the largest wooden temple in the entire region of Transcaucasia.

The building outside and inside is decorated in the Russian style of log temples of the thirteenth century.

During her lifetime, Matrona gave many predictions that came true. Through her prayers, many people received healing.

Matrona led a righteous, prayerful way of life. Believers always went to her for advice and for spiritual, prayerful help.

She is said to have predicted her death three days in advance. Before her death, she said: "Come to me and ask for help, like a living one." Matrona of Moscow was buried at the Danilovsky cemetery.

In 1998, the ashes of the Matrona of Moscow were transferred to the Intercession Monastery, and in 1999 the Church canonized her as a saint.
