Among the Buryats one of the most revered goddesses is Yanzhima. Myths tell us that at first chaos and darkness reigned on earth. Seeing this, the wife of Brahma Saraswati (this is the Indian name of the goddess Yanzhima) descended into the world in order to overcome chaos with her knowledge. Yanzhima is still considered the patroness of the arts, sciences, crafts, students, children, and motherhood. Prayers in front of her image help women achieve their cherished goal - to become a mother.

Dancing Yanjima (goddess)

In the Buddhist religion, Yanzhima (Saraswati) is considered the goddess of prosperity, wisdom, her image is associated with innocence, purity, the creation of everything new. Childless families turn to Yanzhima. In addition, the goddess endows with eloquence, various aesthetic knowledge, and a subtle mind. She is worshiped by musicians and poets, painters and artists.

There is a rock in the Barguzinsky district near the village of Yarikta. Here in 2005 a miracle happened -in a dancing image, the face of the goddess appeared on the stone, its height was about a meter.

As the old-timers of the local valley say, at the beginning of the 20th century, Sodoy Lama meditated in this place near the rock. He was the rector of the first Barguzinsky datsan. This man was amazing. He had the gift of foresight. In the 1930s, the property of the Barguzinsky datsan was buried in these places. The story of the discovery of the image began with his search.

Opening the image

In 2005, the lamas of the Buddhist Sangha searched this area for buried relics that had disappeared during the years of repression. They were headed by Panditohamba Lama Damba Ayusheev. Here it was planned to find a place for the construction of a new datsan. An event that took place four years earlier brought the seekers here - in a crevice of a rock, woodcutters discovered a pyramid with images of a thousand Buddhas, this, no doubt, indicated the great significance of the area, which is called "Uulzataraa" (Meeting). The two rocks seem to meet each other here. According to the legends, it is here that the world of people meets the upper world.

Before the start of the search and survey of the area, the Dam Ayusheev fell into a state of deep meditation in order to "see" the buried relics. He remained in this state for quite some time. Suddenly, 20 meters away, he discerned a face on a rock, it was Yanzhima, the goddess appeared in a dancing image.

Surprisingly, no one had ever noticed an image like this before this incident on the rock.

From this day on divinethe face of Yanzhima began to attract hundreds of pilgrims to these places. Lamas from the Ivolginsky datsan group also visited here.

Worship of Goddess Yanzhima

All believers are attracted by the dancing image of the beautiful Yanzhima. He is revered, worshiped as a shrine, prayers are ex alted, they ask for protection and patronage. People come to the face from distant places to bow to the beauty and strength of Yanjima (goddess).

In 2009, in the Barguzinsky district, on the site of the manifestation of the sacred face, the construction of the Barguzinsky datsan began, it received the name "Palace of the Goddess Yanzhima".

As a mother goddess, Yanzhima has the incredible ability to give the greatest gift to people - motherhood. Visit Rules

Before going to Yanzhima, each pilgrim must prepare internally, consider his requests, appeals, cultivate positive emotions, thoughts in himself.

It is forbidden to visit holy places and datsans while intoxicated, you can not drink alcohol near the territory. Smoking, loud laughter and talking are also not appropriate in the area next to the image of the dancing goddess. Here it is recommended to behave calmly, not to disturb the peace of the saints, to focus on thoughts and prepare for communication with the world of the gods. Everyone takes a silk scarf with them and ties it to the tree closest to the rock.

Before the Buddhist ceremony, in order to acquire a blessing for we alth and prosperity, it is recommended to bring milk, freshly brewed black tea, sweets, cookies, marshmallows, dairy products (cheese, butter) to the prayer service (khural). After the Khural is completed, the products are taken home and treated to their relatives and close people.

Entrance to the Dugan temple

Before entering the Dugan temple, each person entering must perform a ceremony (otherwisegoro). Its essence: in the course of the sun, you need to go around the dugan three times, while leaving rice and coins in the corners. During the passage of circles of purification and repentance, it is mentally necessary to confess all your sins, bad thoughts and words. You need to enter the dugan by removing a silk scarf and another headdress. Inside, you also need to go along the course of the sun, while leaving "dalga" and "sergem" in a special place. Money must be brought to the mandala, this is a sacred bowl full of money and consecrated grains - a symbol of we alth and prosperity. In the altar part you need to bow to the gods. You can't turn your back on the altar. Here you can order prayers, buy souvenirs, religious items.

Ritual

From dugan up to the mountain, where the face of the goddess of motherhood Yanzhima is located, new ecological paths lead, on which information boards are located. Before moving upstairs, you can contact the local lamas and ask for advice on how to properly observe the rituals and contact Yanzhima. It is allowed to take toys, jewelry, hadaks, coins to the place of manifestation of the deity. Khiimorin flags can be taken home, hung in a holy place or left near the datsan.

Begging a child is a special ritual. After the main rituals are completed, the brought doll is placed in a baby's cradle, in this place a "sasa" was found. You need to go 21 circles, do a full prostration (there are special boards for this). In this case, you need to say a mantra to the goddess Yanzhima, no matter out loud or mentally. Toys must be taken with you and after three daysgive to children in an orphanage or from a large family.

Who is Sadoy Lama

The master of the teachings of the Buddha Sadoy Lama at all times, even in persecution and unbelief, was revered by ordinary people. In every house of the Barguzinskaya valley there is his image. His deep experience and vast knowledge are invaluable assets of Buddhism. The master of meditation Sadoy Lama showed his extraordinary abilities already in childhood, he could easily move on the water surface, come out dry from the rain and easily climb the steepest slopes. They call Sada Lama the Buryat Nostradamus. He had the gift of foresight and predicted many events of the last century.

The lama passed away in 2016. He shut himself up, retired and disappeared from the world, transforming his body into a multi-colored rainbow. He proved that the physical body can be transformed into space. Only a select few on earth succeed in such a miracle. According to his disciples, when they went to his meditation cell, they found his reduced body. It gradually decreased, and eventually a flash of bright light appeared, leaving only clothes, nails and hair.

Yanzhima's Feast

Barguzinsky district annually celebrates an event dedicated to Soda Lama, his departure to Nirvana. In 2016, we celebrated the centenary of this significant event for believers. At the same holiday, people also remember Yanzhima. Goddess Yanzhima is sacred in Buryatia and her birthday is celebrated according to the lunar calendar in May. On this day, hundreds of pilgrims gather in these places,thanks to common prayers, the energy of the place becomes more powerful and stronger, the power of Yanzhima increases many times over. This means that she will respond to all the calls of believers, hear their prayers and requests for the most intimate - for inspiration, he alth, academic success, creativity, marriage, the joy of motherhood.
