Massive changes in faith are also observed among the Berber tribes. In 2006, even a law was passed banning missionary activity. Despite the fact that it restricts human rights (according to UN agreements), the law is still in force.
According to this, a person who forces or incites a Muslim to change his faith risks going to prison for a period of 2-5 years. The same punishment is provided for the distribution, creation and storage of religious literature that can shake the faith of Muslims.
How are things in other countries?
Every year about 35 thousand Turkish Muslims become Christians. In Malaysia, approximately 100,000 people have changed their faith. About 10,000 people become Christians in Indonesia every year. In this country, transitions from oneconfessions to another are allowed, but disputes around this phenomenon are still ongoing. In Yemen, the mass exodus of Muslims to other faiths is strongly condemned. Therefore, newly converted Christians arrange joint prayers in strict secrecy in the homes of foreigners. Because if anyone finds out that a Muslim woman has converted to Christianity, she will certainly be executed. The same applies to young people who have violated Sharia norms.
Is this okay?
Each country has its own understanding of the norm. Somewhere the change of confession is punishable by death, somewhere this is treated with loy alty. Therefore, there is no universal answer. At the same time, the number of Christians who convert to Islam is growing. Moreover, among them there are prominent scientists, athletes and public figures.
