Today, ancient Slavic customs, religion and worldview, recreated by modern Russian paganism, have become very popular. The reconstruction of the pre-Christian culture of our ancestors is based on the data of folklore, language, rituals, mythology. According to one of the theories, the ancient Slavic calendar divided the year into 16 months (halls). Each of them bore the name of an animal, and only one, the Chamber of the Virgin, was identified with a female deity. The article will talk in detail about everything related to this period in the annual cycle: its symbol, patron, meaning, influence on a person, qualities expressed in an amulet and other features.
Svarozhy Circle
In accordance with the "Daariysky Krugolet Chislobog", the Old Slavic calendar has a complex system of chronology. Each Summer (year) has a specific name, there are 16 in total and they make up the Circle of Years. Nine such 16-year cycles are combined into the Circle of Life, which corresponds to 144 years. From 180 Circles of life are formedthe so-called Days of Svarog, which are 25920 years old. This is the time during which the Sun completes one cycle of rotation around a certain cosmic center, passing through 16 Star Halls or constellations that also have their own names.
These colossal time intervals can be compared with astrological eras associated with the phenomenon of a gradual displacement of the earth's axis. For 1620 years, each day of the spring equinox, the Sun rises in one of these halls, after which it passes into the next.
Svarogy Circle represents a kind of Slavic-Aryan zodiac year or Summer. It consists of 365 days, also divided into 16 Halls, whose names correspond to the names of the Star Halls. This annual cycle of the Sun in the celestial sphere (ecliptic) reflects the cosmic scale cycle that our entire solar system goes through in 25920 years. Each of the 16 Halls of one Summer bears a certain designation. 15 of them correspond to the names of animals, and one of them is called the Hall of the Virgin.
