The blood oath: a mystical ritual and its consequences

Blood is the carrier of genetic information. Since ancient times, very serious magical properties have been deservedly attributed to it. Moreover, it was often used in ancient pagan rituals, and in our time it sometimes participates in chilling satanic rites. But in magic, this elixir of life is given an even more honorable place!

Sequence of actions

The blood oath has always been a very strong confirmation of this commitment. Through the centuries, this sacred rite has hardly changed, and the sequence of actions has remained the same.

First, the swearers make a small incision in a specific part of the arm (forearm, finger, palms or wrist).

Second, the two participants apply wounds to each other, as a sign of mixing blood.

Thirdly, the words of an oath are pronounced, breaking which is worse than death!

In the most terrible version, a special potion is brewed from the blood. But most often it is simply diluted with wine.

Legends andlegends

The Scandinavian "Orvar-Odda Saga" most accurately describes an example of a blood oath of friendship. It tells about how the main character decided to face off against the brave Swede Hjalmar, but at the end of the battle, which lasted two days, it became clear that their strengths were equal, so they decided to become brothers and never part. They connected together the tips of the bloody spears, the base resting on the earth's firmament, the blood flowed (accompanied by spells) and combined into one large puddle. Thus, they seem to have merged their forces together. Herman Shtrak Leberecht, a famous German scientist, studied the issue of blood oath in great detail and concluded that: the original meaning of this rite of the northern tribes was most likely that the participants seemed to show that the earth is the mother of any living being.

In the Norman legends there is a mention that Hegni and Gunnar become blood brothers to King Sigurd, who married their sister Gudrun. Wagner's work "The Ring of the Nibelungs" tells us about the "blood brotherhood" of Siegfried and Gunther. And in the Viking legend about Loki's Quarrel, it is said that the rite of the blood oath was also performed by the gods Odin and Loki.

Strak's book "Blood in the beliefs and superstitions of mankind" says that the custom of eating pure human blood (or diluted with wine) during a solemn oath of friendship or an alliance was used in the culture of different ethnic groups, both in paganism and and in the Middle Ages, in itthe traditions of ceremonial drinking of this "elixir" of life are described in detail.

Herodotus tells about the Scythians that their agreements are sealed by the fact that wine is poured into a large clay bowl, and the soldiers make a small incision in the area of the hand, thereby bleeding, which then flows into the wine. Drink this elixir and those who conclude the contract, and witnesses of what is happening.

About the Persians (he himself) it is said that the blood oath of allegiance happens like this - a witness stands between the two swearing, and with a pointed stone inflicts a deep wound on each palm, then pulls one thread from their robes. After that, he coats all seven stones laid between those who took the oath, calling Urania and Dionysus as witnesses. But starting from the 6th-7th centuries, there is no mention of human blood in historical sources, and only rituals with the use of camel blood are mentioned.

In the "Annals" of Tacitus, it is written that when two kings make an agreement, they join hands, interlacing their thumbs, after which they make a small injection on them, and the released liquid is licked from each other. This union is considered secret and sacred, as it is sealed with the blood of both parties.

Plutarch tells that the exiled Tarquinius the Proud, together with the offspring of Brutus, conceived a conspiracy, which was sealed with a terrible oath, on the insides of a sacrificed man. Sallust tells that Catiline and the conspirators also drank blood and wine as a sign of agreement.

The ritual of fraternization among the Slavs

In Slavic paganTraditions indicate that the main way to end the rivalry between the two families was to drink blood together. Representatives of the two clans pierce the artery on the wrist of the right hand with a sharp needle, after which they suck each other's blood, sealing their friendship with a kiss and an oath of devotion until death.

Such a ritual was actively used in the Slavic tribes, and managed to reach our time without changing. If two men decide to become blood brothers, then before they do this, they must think it over a million times. Only after making a firm decision can you inform the Magus or another elder about this so that he becomes a witness to the oath and reads the necessary words. Then they rip open their veins on their wrists with a dagger (ceremonial or each with their own), and pour blood into the intoxicating cup, mixing it with drink, after which they connect the wounds, pressing them tightly against each other, to the chant of the Magus. Then, at the end of the reading of the slander, he gives everyone a potion, after drinking which, the betrothed brothers seal the bonds with a hug.

Blood oath for love

To this day, many peoples have a special ritual to seal the bonds of marriage. It consists in the fact that the lovers deeply injure each other's palms, after which they add their blood to the ritual cup of wine and drink an equal amount of the elixir. This is how they connect on an energetic level.

For thousands of years, such rites have been present and are still used by many peoples, not at all with the aim of doing something bad, but rather, on the contrary, to seal the union of twopeople, making it even stronger. And the blood oath of lovers has always had a place in various cultures.

In our time, it is very difficult to meet one-lovers, therefore, making serious promises of love to the grave is at least stupid and useless, and at most - simply dangerous. Don't make promises that are obviously difficult to keep.

Magic rituals

There are many different esoteric rites in which blood is the paramount element. When performing such rituals, it is worth adhering to strict rules and observing all conditions, otherwise you can cause irreparable harm instead of good.

Blood oaths in magic are very strong and are most often performed on the full moon, exactly at 00:00. Below is an example of one of them.

A wax candle is lit, mounted on a saucer, and the following text is written in blue letters on a gray sheet of paper: “I (name), I swear … (required words). I will not break the word, I will not betray. Amen (so be it). After that, you should pierce the finger of your right hand and attach it to a piece of paper with a conspiracy, preferably in the center of what is written. The leaf is folded four times, then burned by means of a flame from a candle, and until it has burned to the ground, the words of the slander are repeated. The ashes should be scattered in the wind, leaving the threshold of the house, the candle should be hidden away, and the saucer should simply be washed and used further. After finishing the ritual, you need to go to bed as soon as possible.

Consequences of the blood oath

For reasonable reasons, giving any rashvow, there is great stupidity. Because one should make a vow to higher powers only when finally convinced of the correctness of one's actions, and remember that there will be no going back. Failure to fulfill such a promise - a blood oath - often entails grave consequences that will negatively affect the rest of your life. And here it does not matter whether you believe in mysticism or not, the punishment will overtake anyway.

Ekaterina Shavrina has the following words in her song:

Last love, stop the clock! Last love is like a blood oath! It intoxicates stronger than a hundred-year-old wine! And do not part with it, and do not drink to the bottom!

But love does not need mystical rituals, it must be mutual, mutual, by agreement of the two parties.

Don't ever do this

Many love spells are done using blood, but this is from the section of what you should not do at all. A bewitched person becomes like a zombie - he loses his own will, and the consequences often become very deplorable. At a minimum, a bewitched person becomes a weak-willed alcoholic, and, at a maximum, a murderer of the one who bewitched him. The latter is usually the result of ordinary jealousy. Before performing magical rituals, think about the consequences. There are many examples when a love spell returns to the one who performed it. There is no mysticism in this, it is rather the law of justice.
