Immediately before the ritual, one should eat in the circle of those gathered, using spoons for eating. After the meal, you need to take a flat plate and lay out all the spoons around its circumference. Each of the participants must remember exactly where his spoon is and how it is located, since the result of fortune-telling depends on this. Next, the plate with cutlery is removed to a secluded place.

To find out the result of divination, in the morning you need to look at the location of each cutlery:

• if it is in the same place, a fortuneteller expects a long life;
• a slightly shifted cutlery can be a harbinger of illness;

In order for the process of divination to be fun and interesting, it is preferable to guess in a large company of people. In addition to simple divination methods, there are also more complex ones. To conduct them, you need not only the presence of cutlery at hand, but also the courage to evoke the spirit or ask for help from the brownie, who can indicate the correct answer during divination.

Divinationon paper spoons

For the ceremony, it is worth preparing the necessary props: cutlery, white paper (cut into strips 2 cm wide and 20-30 cm long), candles, a flat dish, a towel.

To perform the ritual, you need to open the window (so that there is a way for the spirit) and decide in advance which of the dead will be called. Then, having settled in a circle, each of those gathered should light a candle and put it in front of him. One of the company should put a dish in the middle of the table, laying out spoons and paper on it for each participant (one for each).

After that, all participants should join hands and say the following words 3 times: "Spirit (name of the deceased), come to us. Spirit (name of the deceased), you are here, hear us and tell us the answers to the questions!" When the words are spoken, the window should be covered so that the spirit does not leave the room during divination on spoons.

Divination rules

Each of those gathered takes one spoon in the left hand and a strip of paper in the right. Then he asks himself a question to which you can answer “yes” or “no”. The strip must be folded in half, and the handle of the spoon should be placed at the fold. Then wrap both ends of the strip around the handle until all the paper is on the handle of the cutlery.

All the spoons are put on the dish, and one of the participants covers them with a towel and starts to twist the collected cutlery clockwise, making about 10 turns. Then the towel is removed, and each of those gathered takes a spoon, a stalkwhich looks at him. The ends of both strips should be carefully taken with your fingers and unwound. In the event that the cutlery remains inside the paper, the wish will not come true. Conversely, if the strip of paper is completely unwound and the spoon remains in a free position, this means “yes.”

When the ritual is over, you need to blow out the candles, open the window, put all the props on the dish and, holding hands, say the following: "Spirit, we release you and thank you for your help, you can return to where you came from!"
