On September 15, 1677, Patriarch Joachim of Moscow and All Russia issued a blessed church-building charter to Prince Mikhail Yakovlevich Cherkassky for the construction of a new stone church to replace the dilapidated wooden one. After 6 years, the construction of a new Trinity Church in Ostankino was completed. It is built in the style of Moscow patterns. In addition to various decorative elements made of white stone and brickwork, the walls of the church are decorated with multi-colored tiles with images of birds of paradise, unicorns, and flowers. The central place on the eastern facade is occupied by three icon cases with images of the Savior and John the Baptist and the Mother of God praying to him.
Consecration of a new temple
The first on February 8, 1683, the chapel was consecrated in the name of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God. It served as a house church, intended for the owners of the estate, therefore it had a separate entrance from the north side. In 1836, the altar of this chapel was rebuilt in the Empire style. In our time, in addition to the ancient icons of the Tikhvin Mother of God and Christ the Savior the Great Bishop, new icons are especially revered in this chapel, such as the “Additionmind" and "The Tsaritsa"
Final decoration of interiors and construction of iconostasis in the central part of the Trinity Church in Ostankino and the second aisle dragged on for several years. The consecration of the southern chapel in the name of St. Alexander Svirsky took place only on August 1, 1691. Alexander Svirsky is a Russian saint who was awarded the vision of the Holy Trinity of three angels. In this aisle, the peasants prayed with. Ostankino. In the local row there is the icon of the Mother of God "Seven Arrows", which especially helps to protect yourself from various slander, from the influence of the evil, evil spirits. In the mid-1990s, the icon of the Georgian Mother of God was miraculously donated to the temple. Once the owner of this icon was the princess of the Marjanishvili family.
Consecration of the main chapel in the temple
The consecration of the main chapel of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Ostankino took place on June 3, 1692. They served here on special occasions. For example, when royal people came or when weddings, christenings, funerals of the owners of the estate in Ostankino were held. The iconostasis of the central aisle is made in the Moscow baroque style. It embodies the fashion trends of the last quarter of the 17th century - a new arrangement of icons, a new pro-Western style of painting icons. In the local row, to the right of the Royal Doors, there is an image of the Resurrection of Christ in a new version - not as "Descent into Hell", but as "Rise from the Tomb", which is directly borrowed from Western iconography. Behind the icon of Christ, according to the canon, istemple icon "Old Testament Trinity", which, obviously, was transferred from the previous wooden church.
Description of the iconostasis
The largest image of the iconostasis, according to tradition, is the icon of Christ the Savior. He is painted in the new iconography as the Great Bishop of the Savior. In the 17th century, a similar version became widespread in Western and Southern Russia. In the middle of the ancestral row, as in other iconostases of the Naryshkin baroque style, there is an icon of God the Father in the form of a gray-bearded old man. The Moscow Cathedral categorically forbade such images, but the ban was often violated. The iconostasis ends with two tiers of the Passion of the Lord and Golgotha.
Visit to the temple by royal people
The builder of the Trinity Church in Ostankino, Prince Cherkassky, had only one granddaughter-heiress, Varvara. When she married Count Pyotr Vasilyevich Sheremetyev, the estate passed into the possession of the Sheremetyev family, who for centuries had a warm family friendship with the reigning Romanov family. It is no coincidence that before ascending the throne in 1856, Emperor Alexander II chose Ostankino as a place of rest for the imperial family. By the arrival of distinguished guests, the temple was completely restored. On August 18, 1856, the imperial couple arrived at the temple, where a prayer service was served. Then, in deep seclusion, the Romanovs prepared for the sacrament of coronation and chrismation. On August 25, having prayed at the liturgy, the royal family departed for Moscow. On August 26, the wedding to the kingdom took place in the Assumption Cathedral of the capital. Before AlexanderII, many reigning persons have been here - Empress Anna Ioannovna, Empress Elizaveta Petrovna, Nicholas I.

How many domes and frescoes needed to be updated… In 1877, the architects Serebryakov and Sultanov began restoration, as a result of which the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity acquired, as it was then believed, the proper stylistic completeness. On the southern and western sides of the temple, initially small rectangular windows were hewn. Above the southern porch and above the bell tower, instead of a spire, hipped roofs that never existed. At the same time, the frescoes of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Ostankino were updated.
