What are gender relations? The question, which initially seems so simple, subsequently confuses. The thoughts that come to mind are weakly put into words, not to mention excellent wording.
Male and feminine
A man and a woman are the most banal and at the same time the most mysterious tandem. They represent the idea of opposites in nature. But at the same time they reflect its unity. It's no surprise that such a mystery, lying in plain sight, could not be so easily missed.
Ancient Greek mythology addressed the above idea more than once. A lot of attention is also paid to it from the Chinese side: the famous yin and yang symbolize just the same feminine and masculine principles, respectively.
Usually, female nature is presented as passive-natural, while male nature is socially creative, which demonstrates yin and yang. However, we should not forget that man and woman, black and white, night and day, darkness and light - despite their dissimilarity, they make an ideal combination.
Binary symbolism
The above examples make it clear that the binarity of the world is an indisputable fact. Mankind uses the idea of duality to its advantage: take at least a machine (computer) code. It is a binary sequence of numbers. What is curious, taking duality as the basis of many sciences, people are still not able to fully understand its most important origins.
Androgyny
Many ancient mythologies, in addition to the opposition and unity of the feminine and masculine, widely considered the concept of androgyny, bisexuality. In China, yin and yang were never perceived as something separate: even medicine was based on the principle that in every human body there are enough of both of these particles. It's just that some of them prevail over others. Currently, this translates into the theory of masculinity and femininity: despite the fact that the first corresponds more to a man, and the second to a woman, each person shows both qualities (properties) in different proportions.
Destroy the usual ideas
The problems of mutual relations between the sexes are understandable from the point of view of logic: how can things that are opposed to each other so easily come together? This is also proved by the purely domestic side of life. It is stereotypically accepted to believe that some occupations / qualities / character traits are closer to a woman, and others to a man. Now, when the ideas of masculinity/femininity and their relationship with the sexes are being revised, many conjectures have to be discarded for lack of evidence thereof. The study of gender identity in the presenttime has reached a high level, and she is not limited to a simple "I feel like a man (or woman)".
Love as a link
Almost half of the article is devoted to how opposite yin and yang are. Their unity is said only a couple of times, inadvertently, although this is a fact. All of the above only confirms how complex the relationship between a man and a woman is and what is the problem of gender relations. What makes two opposites unite?
The basis on which the relationship of the sexes is kept is love. She is responsible for overcoming distrust, fear of the unknown and the new. Unfortunately (or fortunately), this is not a feeling that can be described in a few words. Love is always complex and multifaceted. But it always contains respect, trust and mutual understanding. That is why the moral attitude of the sexes is the basis of a normal family life, and subsequently the he althy development of society.
Moral culture of gender relations
Morals are easy to question. Morality as an attitude is just an invention of people, which can evolve or degrade, in other words, change in one direction or another. Therefore, the moral culture of the relationship between the sexes is too difficult to resolve the issue. It is studied by sociologists and psychologists: in general and in each case separately.
Projection onto reality
The relationship between the sexes is regulated by many factors. Among them are external and internal. These factors are also interconnected.
External influence from society and public opinion forms in a person's head an attitude towards one or another gender. In terms of stereotyping, the problems experienced by gender relationships can be caused by one partner not fitting the image of masculinity/femininity in the other partner's head.
Another reason: the projection of their own problems and experiences on relationships.
Features of the psyche
Socio-cultural conditions are conducive to the fact that distrust of the opposite sex, resulting from the characteristics of the psyche, is increasing. Historical traditions successfully separated the feminine and masculine, emphasizing their dissimilarity in clothing and behavior. The modern world is not so prone to this, but is still susceptible to stereotypes. And distrust, which comes from childhood and the subconscious, although it is smoothed out in adulthood due to attraction, interest and the development of one's own thinking, but continues to influence gender relations in a bad way.
Social pressure
This has already been mentioned in the article earlier. Society can act as one of the factors of external influence on gender relations. What problems could this lead to?
If the environment does not recognize manifestations of femininity in male representatives or, on the contrary, in female representatives - masculinity, a person will not be able to fully develop in accordance with his mental state. Needless to say, without self-realization, she will not be able to build he althyrelationship?
Specific solutions to the problem
The problem of gender relations is solved in each case, based on the psychological characteristics of the partners.
External factors are studied and regulated by sociological research, as a result of which experts make certain decisions to improve relations between the sexes in a particular socio-cultural environment. They remain a topical issue and a central topic of discussion due to their impact on social development in general.
